I think you should wait for the 2Q19 result to be out to confirm whether the low revenue in 1Q19 is permanent or just a one off thing.
You are right to point out the festive season as a potential catalyst for the increase sales in 2Q19. But using the same type of argument, 1Q19 was also expected to post higher revenue given the tax holiday period.
What is worrying is that the low revenue might be an indication of higher competition coming from ecommerce platform such as Lazada. The CEO of Lazada just had an interview session at BFM this morning. He had indicated that Alibaba (Lazada parent company) is committed to invest a further USD2bil or (RM8.4bil) in Lazada to spurs the company's growth.
But I still hope Padini financials would rebound back in 2Q19.
to minimise the risk, better to wait another qtr to see the low sales is permanent or just temporary anyway, i asl think that PADINI have opened many enough stores around supermarket in Msia
some stores no customers also , just the promoters more than the customers
if share price drop until RM1.00 & DY high until 10% also no use
if the company prospect is not good ,
bad prospect will lead to lower sales, then lower profit then lower operating cash flows , with lower cash & profit , PADINI will cannot sustain high dividend payment going forward
important is the future prospect and future potential DY
All businesses starting to feel the heat after GE14, Astro, Tune and many companies into VSS. The results all turned bad. And many corporations need to attend fund raising activities to fork out money for new gov
Understand this loh.....!! In investment every dogs has its days loh....!! Take Padini for example......this 3iii has been shouting and screaming like a champion about it....but just within 1 wk....this Padini loss 50% of its value loh.....!!
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT WITH A STOP POSITION. U CAN ALWAYS BUY BACK MAH.....!!
well said stockraider.....if you have brought padini long time ago, then it is fine...but now it look like tip of the iceberg...so those rush in, be prepare to hold long...every stock has its day...
Padini has been hit hard after Malaysia put a stop to China Nationals buying up Forest City. As a result China tourists to Malaysia has dropped.... Affecting the sales of Padini in Jpo and other places.
Pray for our Govt to have wisdom and bring in FDI, tourists and My 2nd Home investors to stimulate the economy

Good luck.
