We might see stock price retreated temporarily with the slight decrease in QR........as quite normal , buy it will stabilized as some are fearing and overreated to the sentivity of the financials result.

I have bought several others stocks besides magni like elsoft, tongher and mflour with lower profits and revenues on qr basis, it retreated temporarily and rebounded after a week of sell down . Should take up position in short term weaknesses and it will regain strength since yoy it's still making huge profits overall . The last and previous low is not lesser than RM 7 and anything dip below RM 7 is still a margin of safety . Trade at your own choice and risks involved .

Today Magni is trading at PE of 10.23

Its historical PE ranged from 5.5 to 8.2, averaging 6.8.

It is trading at a PE that is 50% above its historical average PE.

actually i calculated magni, if i try to base on pessimistic view as per QR's prospect,

Q1, Q2, i give 12sen, so *2 = 24 sen EPS

I also assume worst case scenario, Q3, Q4, also 24 sen (very unlikely).

So total 48 sen EPS * 10 PE (current valuation) will get Magni fairly valued at RM4.80

But 4.80 too low d.....so i try optimistic a bit

Q3, Q4, i give 18 sen, so *2 = 36 sen

24+36 = 60 sen
*10 PE = fairly valued at RM6.

still too low..... =(

also, forex loss is very likely to be mitigated soon with stabilized earning. Coz magni has higher exposure with the USD due to its major customer.

the price of 7 is included of increment in profit every quarter till the next year. a slight drop definitely will pull it downwards.

I am only stating facts.

The management has guided that the business for this period is lack luster. (You should take note of this. They can say more.)

Capex announced in the latest quarter result was 0. (Why? No need to spend to maintain or grow its revenue generating assets. Do you think this means more growth in the future? )

What has happened to Magni share price over the recent period of great growth?

Yes, Magni has been performing very well. It grew its earnings every quarter and rightly deserved to be re-priced higher.

Its PE accordingly expanded too. (That is wonderful too).

Now what happens when the growth slows or disappears? (Please do your own thinking and make your own decision.)

Price of share = PE x EPS


Magni's price has gone up rightly due to its good business over the recent years. Will this be sustained long term?

Accordingly, its Price has gone up due to its better EPS. Its price has also gone up due to its expanding PE.

I have noted for this forum that its PE has expanded 50% over the recent period.

Should a highly sought popular company that has grown its EPS suddenly slowed in its growth, what might happen to its share price?

Perhaps, its EPS remains the same. The PE may shrink back to its usual PE.

You get a double whammy downwards, should its EPS and PE shrink at the same time.


[I maybe absolutely wrong, please make up your own mind and decide based on your own peculiar investing milieu.]

Its ttm-EPS is 71.38

Using its historical average PE of 6.8x (explained in my posts above).

This Magni, assuming growth has faltered, may revert back to below

6.8 x 71.38

= 4.85 per share.
