Solar performance worse than I thought. With the solar prospect still grim, 0.50 is not impossible.
So sad for tekseng. It was once such a gem.

Can solar 4Q give overall negative ? Yes, because ...
pv price start to crash from July and bottom in Sept, so in 3Q only Sept bore the full brunt of the solar crash. Though solar has recovered from bottom since then, the recovery was not big, and as at late November, price is still 26.6% lower than July.

So the whole 4Q may bear the full brunt of the solar crash to give an overall solar loss, which will eat into PVC profit and result in overall EPS = 1 !!

whole industry is bleeding .. nothing can be done management to control the slump .. solar is a commodity, pricing not determine by TS as China is flushing the market with cheap & efficient panel.

TS will soon out of business if cannot catch up china's companies in term of cost & efficiency.

About 24% of Loss came from forex loss, RM3.8m.
PVC is still performing but sales / profit was only so so.
Solar business is killing! Sales dropped, loss making, and RM3m tax provided though it was a loss, what the hack was that!?
Shit, is Deferred Taxation!

The forex loss could be come from the high payable (import? build up inventory?), sales / receivable was rather low, nothing much can gain gain from forex. Other payable is so high, what's in?

Knowing that it is nomatterhow a bad quarter, just dump whatever potential liability in this quarter because nothing else can be worse? Clean out the rubbish to hope for a new chapter beginning of next financial year?

Look at the bigger picture, the earnings for this recent quarter dropped but the TOTAL of all Quarter Earnings, for the Financial Year 2016, Tek Seng's Total Revenue and Net Profit (if you add all Quarter Results for 2016) increased as compared to the Totals for Financial Year 2015! Hence, an improvement in performance annually! This final quarter result is to complete the totals for the Year 2016 Annual Report, obviously, there is a great improvement in TOTAL financial quarter results compared to the previous Year 2015 Annual Report! Looking at Tek Seng's historical financial performance, usually, the final quarter results are negative but the first, second and third quarters are positive. Looking at company performance, I look at the annual performance in whole as an improvement to the previous year.
