Your question might be, "Why would people want to invest in glove sector now, since the ASP is falling?"

Yes, the ASP for gloves is falling and the gloves share price has fallen way ahead too. So, some value investors might be looking to slowly nibble at a glove counter, as they would expect the ASP to normalise, eg by middle of next year.

But the always tricky part for any stock market investment is to be able to predict accurately the behaviour of the glove market, 6 to 9 months way before things actually happen.

Haha, finally I have made this "agenda-driven" fellow reveal his true intention. Always tried to take advantage of situations to further his selfish agenda.

He had made a prediction for Rubberex's share price to drop to 40 sen today because of "Cukai Makmur". Now, he changes it to "maybe, end Nov". So, he knows his earlier trick can not work already???

If he is so confident that his dream price of 40 sen is coming, then he should "wait patiently" on the outside, instead of using all excuses to "talk down" on the price as if he is "worried" that the price may move up faster than he can grab hold of. Why need to bring himself down so low???

Learn from skcm2017 or TheContrarian, pay at the current market price if they do not want to wait:

The verdict is finally out. Surprisingly, Rubberex closed unchanged at 54 sen, way above the 40 sen price that Sneakpeek had wrongfully predicted by a very "wide" margin. Going by such a "glaring" error, I hope Sneakpeek will have at least the basic courtesy to stop making such baseless predictions in future.

We are all fully aware that stock price is a function of market demand and market supply. Why would he say, "Monday drop to 40 because of makmur tax.."? Because he knew "Cukai Makmur" is an "unexpected" surprise event. A lot of our forumers might be totally at a loss on its full potential impact. So, he thought he could easily use his "scare tactic"(ie a big drop in share price), to induce some panic selling from our unsuspecting forumers and/or their close contacts via words of mouth. Like that, he can easily shorten his waiting time for his dream price to come true.

But after I put up my opposing views in my postings, his "plot" fell through.

Hartalega's 2Q net profit falls 60% q-o-q on lower ASPs and sales. But it is offset by the announcement of declaring a single-tier interim dividend of 35.2 sen per share. This has helped its share price to move up from RM5.63 at noon break yesterday.

What can other glove makers learn from this?
Profit fall is more or less expected by the market. So long as the company can announce something extra(as a sweetener), better than what the market has expected, the share price can still move up after result release.

Hope Rubberex management will learn from this and do what is necessary when it releases its results by end of this month. I am pretty sure major shareholder Ong Choo Meng will endorse it as he will stand to benefit from it too.

Wow never ending supply of shares made available to sell. Major shareholder Hextar Rubber S/B holds 50.27% + treasury shares @ 4.95% = 55.22%. Remaining shares available for trade = 44.78% or 410M. It would appear that this 410M shares had been recycled many times over since May 2021 to suppress the share price with minimal shortselling.

WHO warns that Europe is once again at the epicenter of the Covid pandemic
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/04/who-europe-is-once-again-at-the-epicenter-of-the-covid-pandemic.html

Record-breaking cases:
The two main reasons the WHO’s Kluge gave for Europe’s soaring case numbers were "insufficient vaccination coverage" and "the relaxation of public health and social measures".

Rubberex has a significant presence in Spain with a sizeable 35,000 sq. ft. warehouse and marketing office in Valencia that mainly distributes the Group’s products to a major supermarket chain, Mercadona SA in Spain(since 1998),
and other customers around Europe.

In this respect, Rubberex's marketing efforts in Europe have been more rewarding, when compared to the glove big4's marketing efforts in the US market(which can be quite frustrating, when facing US import bans).

Just sharing for Rubberex shareholders' info only...

U.S. bans imports from fifth Malaysian firm in 15 months over alleged forced labour
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - U.S. customs authorities have banned imports from Malaysian rubber glove maker Smart Glove over alleged forced labour practices, making it the fifth Malaysian firm to face such a ban in the past 15 months.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a "Withhold Release Order" that prohibits imports from Smart Glove and its group of companies, the CBP said in a statement on Thursday, a decision it said was based on reasonable evidence that indicates "Smart Glove production facilities utilise forced labour".

Smart Glove, which makes gloves used in the medical and food industries, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Malaysian factories - which make everything from palm oil to medical gloves and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone components - have come under increasing scrutiny over allegations from rights groups and workers of abuse of foreign employees, who form a significant part of the manufacturing workforce.

In its statement, the CBP said its investigation identified seven of the 11 forced labour indicators set out by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) at Smart Glove, but did not say which ones were found.

The ILO indicators include excessive hours, debt bondage, physical and sexual violence, abusive working and living conditions.

The United States banned another glove maker https://www.reuters.com/world/us-bars-malaysian-glove-maker-supermax-over-alleged-labour-abuses-2021-10-21, Supermax Corp, over similar allegations last month. Supermax has said it will speed up a process it had begun in 2019 to meet ILO standards.

Supermax's bigger Malaysian rival Top Glove - the world's largest latex glove maker - was barred by the CBP over similar allegations last July. The ban was lifted last month https://www.reuters.com/business/malaysias-top-glove-says-cleared-resume-business-with-us-2021-09-10 after the company resolved the labour issues.

Palm oil producers Sime Darby Plantation and FGV Holdings have also been banned by the CBP in the last year.

Sime Darby and FGV have both appointed auditors to evaluate their practices and said they would engage with the CBP to address the concerns raised.

Bursa market is doing rather badly these days. Not only glove counters are down, even some small/mid cap recovery counters(eg steels, 5G theme, etc) are down quite badly too.

If not for SBB, Rubberex would have long tested 50 sen. And I notice Rubberex management is going on smaller amounts for its SBB daily vols of late. Hence, the slide in its share price.

Rubberex's result will be out by end of this month. We should wait for the result to be out first, before any decision to top up more.

This would mean higher transaction costs of shares trading(esp high frequency trading) for next year. Hopefully, market operators will cut down on "deceiving" trading vols. Lol.

This morning, the vol traded for Rubberex is again very low. As of morning session closing, only 335,800 shares traded.

I think trading vol is likely to remain low, until the release of the quarterly report later in Nov and the SBB will be on standby to act to reduce price volatility.

What is happening? This morning, all glove counters shot up like crazy.

At one point yesterday, Rubberex was trading at 50/50.5 sen. For a moment, Sneakpeek thought the 50 sen support might be broken. But SBB came to the rescue and it closed at 50.5 sen yesterday.

But now, 55.5 sen, up 5 sen. Sneakpeek may have to sigh again: "Come on..stop teasing us..just drop to 50c already".

As always, I try NOT to be a smart alec to time the market and predict where the share price will drop. It all depends on a number of variables.

Wow, Rubberex closed at 55.5 sen today, up 9.9%. The credit must go to SBB. Why? Because SBB reduces the amount of public float in the market. So, it is easier for Rubberex operator to push up the share price.

At 55.5 sen, the share price is almost at the midpoint of the SBB price range by the Rubberex management(between 50.5 sen and 62 sen).

So, for the less bullish forumers, you are at liberty to cash out for any reason next Mon if you wish.

As for me, I am okay with the share price either way. Up, I just make do with what I have. Down, I can look out to top up more if the price is "right". That is why I can afford to give my unbiased views on Rubberex.

Have an open mind and we will see things differently.

Eg there was a major correction on steel counters recently and some hot favorite steel counters were sold down more fiercely than the others when punters started to exit these hot favorites. Notwithstanding this, I was still able to find at least one steel counter that had bucked the general trend.

What is the lesson learnt? Do not always follow the crowds to chase after hot favorites.
