PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has suggested reviving discussions with Singapore on the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project.
Ismail’s Singaporean counterpart, Lee Hsien Loong, said the republic was open to new proposals from Putrajaya on the project, though the HSR had been mutually terminated by both countries.
“(Ismail) suggested reviving discussions on the HSR. I responded to the prime minister that Singapore and Malaysia had previously reached an agreement to terminate the HSR project, and this had been amicably settled and closed,” Bernama reported Lee as saying at a joint press conference with Ismail in the republic.
Ismail is visiting Singapore to mark the start of the vaccinated travel lane (VTL) between the two countries.
