kit6518, I received this email on July 2019 : We have verified the provided shareholder details. Kindly be informed that you are entitle to get one (01) free ticket on AirasiaX flight and the complimentary ticket must be claimed before 30th June 2020 (Travel Period would be 20 July 2019 to 30 June 2020).

I started sent email to AAX (aax_shareholder@airasia.com & clientsupport@airasia.com) on 29 Dec to redeem my ticket, total sent out about 10 emails, but never get reply from them. The share price already rugi, now seem my free ticket also gone.

Another fine for continue imposing processing fees. Really no idea where gone wrong. Such a simple matter also unable to ensure compliance. Anyway liquidity and profitability remain in doubt.

1) AirAsia Group is in the process of consolidation

AAGB, through AirAsia Bhd (AAB or AK), is in “the process of acquiring” AirAsia X Bhd (AAX or D7). This will see both airlines merge into one airline operation, retiring AK and D7 and only using one IATA code AK.

This enlarged group will serve the low-cost market, covering domestic and international segments, from short to long haul. This is also the crucial step in merging with MAB to form the enlarged MergedCo.

@rizerlee, TQ for the info. If it is true, then it reflects authorities' competencies and laws deficiencies. Those day financial regulator mentioned merchants are not allowed to impose charges on customers using credit cards but is silent on this particular airline, as if it doesn't aware. Wonder.
Anyway, as for AAX, est to continue to deliver poor results, cash flow constrains etc. Is a miracle as the price is still quite sustainable at this level. Debt equity 29 times, nta 0.05, loans 6.2b. Cash call should be carried out immediately but instead, remains silent.

...MACC investigating Airbus bribe claims against two AirAsia executives.... Percentage of successful cases? Withdrawing death sentence is more urgent than improving enforcement agencies efficiency and effectiveness, in particular, on those with power and money.

AIRASIA koyak, AAX ikut sama juga

MACC probing AirAsia execs over Airbus bribes
Published: Feb 1st, 2020

The MACC has launched an investigation following revelations that AirAsia and AirAsia X executives were allegedly among those who received bribes from European aircraft manufacturer Airbus.

In a statement today, chief commissioner Latheefa Koya (above) said it was in correspondence with authorities in the UK over the matter.

“Under the MACC Act 2009 we are empowered, and have jurisdiction, to investigate any act of corruption committed by any Malaysian citizen or permanent resident in any place outside of Malaysia.

“In the case of the Airbus-Airasia disclosures, I confirm that the MACC is in touch with the UK authorities and is already investigating the matter,” she said.

Section 66 of the MACC Act allows the anti-graft body to take action against Malaysians and permanent residents for cases outside the country.

Yesterday, UK newspaper The Telegraph reported that Airbus had paid US$50 million and offered another US$55 million to sponsor a sports team linked to two “key decision-makers” at AirAsia and AirAsia X.

According to the article, one of the executives of the Malaysian low-cost carrier had purportedly sent an email saying he was “[…] fed up. You owe me four million already and I’m owed 16 million in total. This should have been paid ages ago when I bought the first 60 aircraft. I want my money”.

The alleged bribery took place between 2011 and 2015.

Aside from AirAsia and AirAsia X, Sri Lankan Airlines, Taiwan’s TNA and a Ghana military aircraft deal were also implicated in the Airbus scandal.

Airbus will pay a record-breaking total of €3.6 billion in settlements in the UK, France and the US after admitting to “endemic” levels of bribery in its business dealings.

The previous global record for settlement was when Brazilian engineering group Odebrecht paid US$2.6 billion to end investigations brought against it by domestic, US and Swiss authorities.

Est no issues or will take ages to investigate and charge, and decision most likely in favour of those with.... by then is a new era. Started commenting when its price around 20, see no hope in near future unless major overhaul including cash call etc.
