From the local research,

According to the Malaysian Petroleum Management (MPM), the number of active oil and gas rigs in Malaysia increased by 15% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. This is the highest level of rig activity since 2019.

MPM also projects that Malaysian oil production will increase by 100,000 barrels per day in 2023, which would be the largest annual increase since 2018.

The oil and gas industry is a major contributor to the Malaysian economy, and it is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.

SINGAPORE (June 27): Malaysia's state energy firm Petronas sees its domestic oil and gas production peaking at about two million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) by 2024, its exploration executives said on Tuesday (June 27).

About 60-70% of its production is natural gas and will remain so going forward, Adif Zulkifli, executive vice president & CEO upstream, said at the Energy Asia conference.

The news is out, disposal of NMR disposal will be completed end of August 2023, and disposal of NTI doesn’t require shareholder approval. This will expedite the repayments scheme to creditor and at the same time will bring 3mil net to the company. Q2 is already looking quite good.
