1M168, good research on Plantation.

FGV is holding strong until end of GE13?

Next quarter results will be worst than Q2 due to
- lower CPO price
- lower sale (China to buy Indo first... that will Stockpile is high)

Good observations by forum members.
Yes, plantation counters will be affected by the variables above mentioned. However, it is quite a decent sector for long term investors.

Even for long term, time your entry so that you have a comfortable margin of safety.

*just my newbie opinion ya*

if this continue, which sectors will benefit the most? food industries?

small holding planters definitely will not be happy....but agricultural land prices still haven't come down...going up most of the time but don't how to come down - "gravity" word is missing in their dictionary

Sorry, this is what i read from theedge weekly newspaper.

Adjustment must have 30% from top ...since CPO adjust more than 50% from top.

Certainly big brothers are trying to support where plantation is one of the main income source by government, i guess

Source from Taiko : CPO price will remain lower until all stock clear. The actual figure of Stock Pile actually is higher than what government(MPOB) has been announced. Because some of the big Plantation company they are reserve the Oil at their own tank and waiting for the better price only dispose. So, mean while at the moment or next 4-6 months you wont see any improvement on CPO price. Strongly call sell and avoid or away from plantation stock. 2013 2H you can get more cheaper entry point.
