MIRI (Dec 8): A Kedayan from Miri, Hannah Dahlim, has been crowned Miss Universal Global 2024 during the international pageant hosted by Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 1.

The event, held at HXC Grand Ballroom, saw 48 participants from Borneo in Malaysia, Japan, India, Vietnam, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China vying for the title.

In a press release today, Hannah attributed her win to the support and guidance from Borneo Pageant director Kimi Tomas, who was also ‘Mrs Global Asian 2023’ winner.

She mentioned that one of her advocacies is to continue the legacy by Kimi, which is to put Borneo on the global maps any way possible.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the beauty and tradition of my Kedayan community to the world, as the Kedayan is very small community in Borneo,” she said.

Hannah shared that through the pageant, she forged international friendships with other participants and took the opportunity to share her Kedayan culture, as well as introduce Borneo to them.
