# IGB Corporation Bhd posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM100.731 million for its second quarter ended June 30, 2012, from RM75.328 million registered in the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue for the three-month period jumped to RM260.83 million, from RM180.969 million previously.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, the company attributed the growth to higher contributions from all operating divisions, namely the property development, property investment, construction and hotel divisions.
For the first six months ended June 30, 2012, IGB Corp recorded a pre-tax profit of RM200.272 million, up from RM144.6 million posted last year.
Revenue for the period also grew, to RM483.724 million from RM361.04 million.
"Operating results for the first six months of 2012 have been encouraging with Group revenue increasing by 34 per cent, with the Property Development and Construction Divisions' turnover both increasing by more than 100 per cent, whilst the Property Investment and Hotel Divisions' turnover increased by nine per cent and 39 per cent, respectively.
"With these improved performances, the Group's operational results for the current financial year will be better than the previous financial year barring any significant adverse changes in the global and domestic economic conditions," IGB Corp said. -- Bernama
