LANGKAWI: Malaysia has received five proposals for its debt-laden national carrier Malaysia Airlines, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed said at a group media briefing on Monday.

"There are about 5 proposals but of course some of them are just no go," Dr Mahathir said without giving more details.

"We need to listen to everybody to find out what is the best solution."

The Malaysian government has been seeking a strategic partner for the financially struggling airline, which is still recovering from two tragedies in 2014, when flight MH370 disappeared in what remains a mystery and flight MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine.

Taken private by sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd in 2014, the national carrier has been struggling to post a profit.

There is nothing more glaring indicator of Dr.Mahatir's failure than the MAS debacle. During his first term as PM he bailed out MAS using PUBLIC money. After almost 25 years, and he is still BAILING it.

Dr. M is nothing but a ROBIN HOOD. Has no substance in his policies. Rob and feed parasites. Parasites do what they do best, yes feed from the host. They are unable to survive on their own.

What we have is a sub standard leadership. Majority have a PIRATE mentality. Even the world best cannot revive them. It is akin to saving a hard core drug addict.
Hopeless!

Like the civil servants, mas has the most staff in the airline industry. And the management are not allowed to retrench any people. Because most of them have connections. So, it can only be sold to cronies and government will continue to subsidise, as they cannot allow company that carrying nation pride to collapse or fall into foreigners. So at the end of the day, old BN practice still continues. They are not keen if the company is making money, or if nation can progress. They are only interested in protecting their interests. Malaysia will be a nation without future, if still headed by BN way of thinking politicians.
