MIDF Research upgrades Rubber Glove sector to Positive

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 19): MIDF Research has upgraded its rating for the Rubber Glove sector to Positive and said that with the easing of latex and nitrile prices, sustainable demand growth, and relatively stronger USD, it anticipates the profitability of the rubber glove producers to improve substantially in 2HCY12.

In a note Wednesday, it reiterated its Buy calls for all the stocks under the sector, except for Top Glove, which had been put under review due to the significant movement in stock price for the past few months.

“We expect the glove players will each benefit significantly from the much improved operating environment.

“At the current prices, we believe each one of them still offers significant appreciation potential over the coming 12 months,” it said.

Historically, Top glove price went up 3 times, SUPERMX price went up 6 times. Based on profit % of return, SUPERMX is a better choice than Top glove.
