This is the official blog channel for the MQ Trader system by the Malaysia's Quantitative Traders Group.

Since the launched of the MQ Trader system, we've received many inquiries on how to sign up for the MQ Trader system to perform Technical Analysis and Fundamental analysis on stocks. The steps and options on signing up for the MQ Trader system have been covered in an earlier blog post. In this article, we shall cover the steps to perform Technical and Fundamental analysis on a stock.

We shall choose the stock AIRASIA for this illustration.

Users who have signed up for any package (Free Trial or Sponsored package) of the MQ Trader system can select the stock from the side bar on the left, or type in the stock code AIRASIA in the search box.

The first page you'll see is the large stock chart with Bollinger band drawn on top of the Candlestick price chart.

Traders can also select other common Technical Indicators to show on the price chart by click on the green Indicators button at the button bar just above the candlestick chart. SMA and EMA lines will be drawn in the same area as the price chart, while the indicators (e.g. RSI, MACD, ADX) will be drawn in the area below the price chart.

Next, traders may like to perform a quick Technical and Fundamental analysis on the stock. Just click on the Stock name or the 3-line "hamburger bar" to the left of the stock name to pull out the option menu for this stock. The Run Technical Analysis and Run Fundamental Analysis functions will be presented in the menu, as per the image below.

Technical Analysis

AIRASIA scores an overall Technical Rating of 4.2 over 5 as at 13-Sep-2017. It has 4 Bullish ratings, and 5 Neutral ratings. This is rather impressive, and is certainly reflected by the latest price moment of this stock. The technical ratings are calculated on fly for the most recent stock price with only 15 minutes delayed from the live stock price.

Below is the screen capture of the Technical Analysis page. Traders can click on the (i) icon beside the name of each rating to read about how is each rating calculated. Traders can also click on the "View Chart" link to see the indicators displayed along the candlestick price chart for this counter.

Fundamental Analysis

The Fundamental Analysis function evaluates a stock based on various fundamental criteria, including Revenue Trend, Profit Trend, Dividend, PE, latest T4Q results and Price Target coverages on the stock.

AIRASIA scores a Fundamental Rating of 3.5 over 5 by the MQ Trader Fundamental Analaysis function. It passes 5 Fundamental analysis rules, and did not pass the other 3 rules. This rating is slightly above average, though a company with Fundamental rating of 4 and above is generally considered more stable with stronger Revenue and Profit trend over the longer term.

Traders can also click on the View Financials link to see the various Financials data trend (e.g. quarterly or yearly Revenue or Profit trend) on a chart with trending line or histogram chart.

There are other data and information that you can see relating to a stock from the MQ Trader system. We shall cover those other features or info in the future. For now, we encourage you to explore and review those functions yourself by signing up for the Free Trial package.
