Bloomberg - Indian tech group withdraws from vaccine race saying not worth it (12:58 p.m. HK)
A group of Indian Institute of Technology alumni and academics has withdrawn from the vaccine development race. It’s neither viable nor safe to do such research at a hectic pace and with inadequate data, IIT Alumni Council said in an Aug. 24 statement.

Only 2% of Covid-19 patients need critical care and they can most likely be treated with antibody-based biologics, Daljit Singh, an IIT alumnus and former president at Fortis Healthcare said in the statement. A vaccine, on the other hand, will need to protect nearly the entire population in order to be effective.

“Chasing 2% of the population with a 98% sure cure has a far better probability of success than chasing 98% of the world population with a 2% surety of safety and efficacy,” he said.

dtrum is sure to lose on this Nov 3rd with his days counting down so fast.

The states with the biggest electoral college votes r
CALIFORNIA, TEXAS, FLORIDA n NEW YORK.
Pple in these 4 states suffered kau.kau.

What can idiotic dtrum do? yell

Vaccine is for all super healthy people in the world.
Without long 3-5 yrs proven history of safety n high 98% efficacy, many in the world will not take it even paid to do so. The doctors would not take, how about you?
For now, Vaccine has no mkt, Only US, China n rudesia r competing to show how good they r to win the hearts of countries. all BS

vaccines dun kill gloves, it's kill my confidence and hope, so it's better to be safe than sorry. watever goods or bad news no longer relevent , it's the trend that we follow, CASH IS KING ,

i completely agree that glove demand will be there even with vaccine, but we must also acknowledge this is an irrational market, and trends are what ensure stock price up or down. when pharma news increases, glove hype will drop. its inevitable. nobody wants to be the sacrifice to hold their stock only looking at a red portfolio

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said DPharma and Pharmaniaga would be involved in the fill-and-finish processes for Covid-19 vaccines, once they are available. However, Khairy later clarified that the packaging for these vaccines would not be exclusively managed by these two firms.

It depends on the type of Covid-19 vaccines that become available. The line has first to be validated with a new vaccine prior to full scale production, which typically takes 12 to 18 months to complete.

The idea is not saying the demand will go back pre-covid time. The idea is the demand will taper down albeit still higher than pre-covid time but not as high during mco time... In that case, the price of the gloves should reflect that as well and does not deserve very2 high valuation.
