One of my very careful very conservative pricingfor MBB was 8.25.. with the divvy , it is actually there.

Actually whispers were already floating back in Sept.. and so funds did sell off near the week past Sept 23.

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 22): The government is contemplating and studying the implementation of a one-off higher tax rate to be imposed on companies that have generated extraordinary profits during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Deputy Finance Minister II Yamani Hafez Musa, who was speaking in Parliament today, added that Putrajaya is also studying the implementation of a capital gains tax, which was proposed by several Members of Parliament (MPs) during the latest parliamentary sitting as part of efforts to replenish government funds spent on combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The government is looking at a few ways in which it can increase its revenue, including implementing the taxing of capital gains on shares and also imposing a one-off higher tax rate on companies that have obtained extraordinary profits during the pandemic,” he said during his winding-up speech on the King's address today.

@tolle....you are correct on the above...

...I have just checked, price on 23-9-21 was 8.15, then it dropped to 8.01 on 5-10-21...

...so, may be some funds have sold some on the above news...

...so if this is correct, then it has partially been priced in.

i think assessment year 2022 means 2022 profit as i checked by the tax filing that i do every year, the filing i did this year 2021 was for assessment year 2020..

sifu tolle, this is a high dividend yielding stock....those who own this stock are mostly long term...and institution...so, I do not foresee much panic selling....some knee jerk reaction yes....

...at current price, the yield is 7-8%.....if the price drop some more resulting higher yield....I bet the EPF will be so happy to sapu kuat kuat.

Maybank has only risen by 15% from its lowest level recorded over the past one year, CIMB and Genting have gone up by 70%. Even Ambank which has been fined RM2.83 billion has gone up more.

Traderjoes : smart observation & decision.. diff risk factors for diff clients.. if u are intrested in cap growth , welcome to buy those, if u want lower risk & good div, then certain counters ,for long term.

If really want to gamble, read serbadak % scib, if really Mid east account is true, then it will 4x ur investment, else u lose ur underwear.

We MBB only look at stability, other welcome to sell & leave if it doesnt suit ur criteria.

Just a friendly advise: do not use margin nor short term funds. Use own money which u would not touch for long time. That way u can leverage comfortably, And do keep some spare for any panic/margin calls /shorts, That way u can be safe & profitable.
