Hoho repost : Jtiasa compared to Sime plant / SDP :

1.) as posted earlier, SDP is RSPO certified where as Jtiasa is MSPO certified !

2.) as posted earlier , SDP plans to employ 100% local workers by the end of 2027 with a minimum wage of RM3,000.

SDP is currently advancing works in innovative harvesting machines for the future, including unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), drones, robotics arms, and detection systems to be used in its plantations.

SDP aims to increase its land-labour ratio for oil palm plantations to one worker for every 17.5 hectares, from one worker for every 15 hectares currently.

SDP is actively involved in accelerating its automation and mechanisation targets in several areas of its business, including rolling out mechanisation initiatives in its upstream operations, and software and hardware development for automation and robotics initiatives.

He added that SDP also has set up a new Mechanisation Transformation Unit (MTU) and Robotics Centre at its Research and Development complex at Carey Island.
It is the centre for mechanisation and robotics design, fabrication and testing.

Hoho 2024 Annual report:
Our mill utilization improved from 54% in the previous year to 68% in FY2024. This was attributed to an increased volume of FFB received from our own estates due to higher FFB production. We were also able to source more FFB from external planters in the year. As a result, the processing cost per MT was reduced.

Latest 2024 AGM minutes:

While the increment of RM200 in minimum
wages from the current RM1,500 represents 13% increase, the overall impact to the Group’s cost structure is minimal as it only affects a small portion of our workforce.

Around 10% of the Group’s current workforce will be affected by the revised minimum wage policy.

REFORESTATION
Manpower shortage continued to be an existential issue in this division. Despite this, in FY2024, the Group planted a total of 6,821 hectares in our LPFs bringing the total planted area to 45,966 hectares and the total number of planted trees to 4,065,071.

May I known when reforestation can to harvest? As AR 2006, reforestation started planting; As AR 2010, 29924 Ha is planted at 2010. Understood that reforestation is 12-15 gestation period. Why reforestation
still not in harvest time?

Yes, some of our planted trees have reached maturity stage. We are in the early planning stage where we are assessing the correct strategic entry point to start harvesting cycle as we need to ensure there are sustainable trees supplies that meet the harvesting condition under government's policy to achieve economy of scale.

At the moment, we are not focusing on the log manufacturing business until we have a sustainable supply of logs from our concession areas and/or planted forests. Only then will we consider all possible business models, including diversifying our customer base or exploring joint ventures with Chinese Companies.

Unutilized tax losses and unabsorbed capital allowances amounted to RM670.7 million and RM227.5 million respectively in FY2024 (Page
130 of the annual report).
Are there ways the companies can actually realize these benefits?

A lot of the unutilized tax losses were related to impairment in the planted forest. If we are able to sell the logs from the planted forest in the export market for USD250 per cubic meter, then we will be able to utilize the tax losses brought forward.

Jasa Tiasa not yet harvest any of its planted forest (planted trees 4,065,071).

Jaya Tiasa is assessing the correct strategic entry point to start harvesting cycle as we need to ensure there are sustainable trees supplies that meet the harvesting condition under government's policy to achieve economy of scale.

Hoho what is WHD’ ROI ???🤔

2024 AGM minutes:

6. In 2023, the Company acquired 55% stake in Wealth Houses Development Sdn Bhd (WHD) for RM52 million, what is the expected ROI in this investment?

The acquisition of WHD in 2023 is strategic in nature to expand the total oil palm plantation land bank directly owned by the Group.

WHD owns a parcel of plantation land of
5,967.1 hectares in size.

This acquisition affords the Company a controlling interest in WHD and ensures security of tenure for future oil palm replanting.

2023 AGM minutes:

WHD contributed over 24,000MT of FFB production in 1Q FY2024.
Total revenue contributed in 1QFY2024 was about RM16 million.

👉3. Since the log trading and the forest division have been making losses and build up some tax losses you can utilize in future. Is there any plan to utilize those losses?

Losses suffered in the timber division were mainly related to reforestation. Offsetting those losses could only be from the future profit from the same business.
