Better be careful what we want from HSR. There will be huge short term boast no doubt because of the construction of HSR but beyond that doubts have been expressed as to its viability. If YTL is going to take on massive debts to fund the project, in the long term it will not be good.

But For sure , Anwar couldn't get loan from China. Without loan from China, i think can ignore the China Consortium bid. And there is still pending discussion on House floor (disclose decision or info sharing?). Anyway with HSR or no HSR , this price is still solid , many HSR speculator would have sale it during the MACC case. Just 2 cents.

HSR have to be implemented now… 10 years ago it only budgetted at 40-50 billion to complete the most advance HSR system at that time. After 10 yrs it is now costing at 110Bill using the most latest rail system available in the market. If it is further delay, it budget may further up to at least 30-40% from current price. The same problem will be faced by GOM on money funding issue. To become develop nation and country, HSR is a must. Just my oppinion.

To me i felt the political situation is not stable yet to implement. By looking at the timing of the events currently. The internal deal is not finalised. Funding i dont think its an issue. With HSR taking position this will create a multiplier effect on land prices. Who is sitting on these lands.
