(Utusan Borneo) – Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Batu Kitang Lo Khere Chiang kecewa dengan keputusan Kementerian Pendidikan menamatkan serta merta perkhidmatan Internet TM Unifi di lebih 1,000 sekolah di negeri ini.

Bercakap pada sidang media di Kompleks Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) hari ini, Lo berkata keputusan tersebut merupakan satu tindakan yang tidak masuk akal dan tidak bijak.

Menurut Lo, perkhidmatan unifi berkelajuan 100Mbps yang dibekalkan di sekolah-sekolah ini sebelum ini dibayar oleh kementerian namun ditamatkan selepas Pakatan Harapan (PH) mengambil alih kerajaan.

“Tindakan Kerajaan PH ini bukan sahaja menjejaskan lebih 1,000 sekolah dan jadual pembelajaran malah turut menyebabkan lebih 2,000 guru kehilangan kerja sebab kelas komputer ditutup.

“Saya tidak faham mengapa Kerajaan PH membuat keputusan ini yang mana bagi saya adalah tidak masuk akal dan tidak bijak,” katanya.

Tambah Lo, di Sarawak, Ketua Menteri Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg mengambil inisiatif untuk meningkatkan kelajuan fasiliti internet.

Tetapi Kerajaan PH, jangankan memberi 100Mbps tetapi sebaliknya mereka menarik balik perkhidmatan internet 100Mbps ini.

“Mereka (PH) menggantikan perkhidmatan internet ini dengan perkhidmatan jalur lebar Zoom YES dengan kelajuan minimum 1Mbps dan maksimum 4Mbps oleh YTL Communication Sdn Bhd.

“Bagaimana sekolah dengan bilangan komputer yang banyak dapat mengendalikan komputer dengan kelajuan internet hanya 1Mbps hingga 4Mbps.

“Ini adalah tidak masuk akal dan tindakan tidak bijak oleh Pakatan Harapan. Kita cuba mempromosikan pendidikan dan sebab itu kita minta menguruskan sendiri sumber negeri ini untuk tujuan-tujuan ini,” katanya.

I think Gobin asked for double the speed half the price.. in effect he wanted the price per mbps to be a quarter what tm was offering before. And tm came back with 10x speed and maintained price, now price per mbps is 1/10 of before.. telco especially wholesale always talk based on price or cost per mbps, in this sense it is more than what Gobin asked for hahaha

The main reason I buy into TM is they didn't cut prices. In addition, the lowest RM3.00 & the highest RM6.50 in 52 weeks, current RM3.70, can say deeply undervalued.

as u have said, they do illusion stuff, but i dont buy tm is bcoz of one reason, whatever smoke screen they offered up to the govt, in the end the minister will most likely do something to force them to comply, bcoz what they are doing is not inline with the govt wish. Is just a matter of when, bcoz u can see clearly, no cut price, govt want cut price.

Signed up Time.com 100mbps for 149 ringgit per month.
Come August price will adjust downwards accordingly.
First month 100 ringgit rebate.
Next month is even cheaper.

Say bye-bye to 199.90 per month package for only 50mbps.
Look like TM is not going to unbundle Hypp TV, but merely increase speed to 300mbps.
Do you really need to 300mbps speed for domestic usage?

At this low price range of 3.10 - 3.30 earlier, if market players don't know that it was time to load up,no wonder more than 90 percent of players lose money all the time. Hope they wake up from their slumber soon.

At 3.10-3.30, the price was low because TM management had no clear way forward and a thin margin that was already in doubt, and poor Q1 results. If the management plan was poor, it is very likely to drop further, which is why people were cautious. I loaded up from 3.01 to 3.14, now waiting for an exit position...

i repeat this, the govt want to cut price and increase speed. What tm doing only increase speed but no price reduction or at least the price reduction is illusion to me.
Harapan will fulfill its promise, or else BN will come after harapan. I do not believe govt is satisfied with TM.

No matter how many times you repeat, TM will go beyond 4.5. from 6.5 drop to 3 is more than 50% discounted price, now everyone got the clearer pic TM max drop of profit is only 20%, so gradually the share price will go up to 4.5 - 5. that is without considering current more attractive package offered by tm and more customers will switch from TIME and MAXIS

I think that TM can be last long and shoot back to RM6...many people will doubt that the speed of upgrading but at least TM willing to upgrade even the speed would not same as what they promised..other telco also cannot provide the package as what TM doing because only TM is the bigboss of this field...nowadays internet wifi is just a part of our life,all of us posting here need wifi as well,even now TM is going to upgrade its unifi to become no1 in malaysia,so many people using TM before upgrading,how about unifi upgrade started?I cannot image how many people will queue to register but im sure more and more to TM from other telco...

Yes. The price could rise 4.5 - 5 but not recently, 1 year? 2 years or ?? The market is too pressure now, it is just waiting to... If you believe TM won't get any hurt by global economic crisis, yes it will back to 5 very soon.

Let me ask u this question, did TM reduced their pricing, the answer is NO. Do u not get this, it means that what gobind promised isn't implemented yet. That means something gonna happen by year end bcoz the promise is by year end. You just have to focus on what the govt had promised, not what TM promised. Don't look at the short term, look at mid to long term and predict what is going to happen.
