I have been slowly accumulating every few days @ 72-75cent with an 1.5-2year investment horizon.
I do see value in this reit, good management team, quick to respond to crisis by offering tenant rebate,as a retail property investor myself, I fully agree on taking care of my tenants before they can take care of me.
i have slowly collecting every 2-3 days, super attractive at 9.11% dividen yield. judging by the economic enviroment, even if 50% of that yield i also happy d.
There are many hotels closing down worldwide, the moment the pandemic is over, there will be insufficient supply to cater to the demand. I believe by then, the remaining survivors will be able to capitalize on that.
@raint, i know how DY is derive, 9.11% is based on their last year performance, which incidently is also one of their best performance. Even if they were to replicate 30-50% of last year performance, I am still able to get 3-4% yield, which i am already happy at this current climate.
I am not here to scare people. YTLREIT is my major holding for future dividend yield. 2021 and 2022 i am expected 2% yield at current price level 0.72-0.76. Don't mislead people
YTLREIT is the type of stock where you buy and wait about 1-2 years and it will definitely pay off. Just like wine, it's boring, unattractive but after a few years, it will shine. COVID is temporary, might take a few more months or even another year before tourism recovers, but domestic tourism will recover sooner. Already in Japan they have been promoting domestic travel, and once Malaysia manage to control their third wave, people will continue to travel again. Same thing with Australia. Personally, I've been wanting to buy this REIT for a long time and right now is the perfect time to buy before tourism sector recovers.
But hey what do I know, I'm just a chef.
YTLREIT is as good as my wine selection in my restaurant. Overlooked.
just enter with the expectation that it is possible to lose 10-15% in the short to medium term but gain 60-70% with reasonable dividend yield in the long term
YTLREIT is undervalued. Pfizer and Moderna vaccine development has boosted market confidence. As a direct consequence, hopefully life will be back to normal soon for many business travelers and tourists. Then YTLREIT performance will be much better in 2nd half of 2021 onwards. Definitely a stock to hold/buy in. I've bought some at ~70cents and has helped a little to reduce my cost per share.
