i expect parkson to consolidated for a while,maybe 1-2weeks,then shoud continue its uptrend.
crucial part will be 1st Q result which should release in november,if china business continue to improve,achieve more than RM20m operating profit like past two quarter,parkson should flourish further.
parkson can recover as most of the major ecommerce business segment start combine with actual shop lot,parkson is one of the largest actual shop in China.It can benefit from this trend
I sold at RM0.665. I think given that the balance sheet is not that great, best to just take my small profit after six months and buy a safer long-term holding. I bought at RM0.64, held through the fall to ~RM0.51, and now sold at RM0.665.

in fact,alibaba just acquired intime retail for 2.6b usd early this year,intime reatil was competitor to parkson and both company was among top 5 retailer in china.so,if retailer like parkson or intime cannot compete with alibaba at all,why alibaba acquired intime?

alibaba's main bread-and butter is still ecommerce and e-finance. the reason intime is added is becos alibaba wants to expand the biz footprint into high volume but low margin grocery shopping and at the same time, create a whole new shopping experience. alibaba has recently commissioned their first high tech mall in hangzhou while amazon go has also commissioned their first fully automated store in seattle.
brick-and-mortar shopping is now all abt giving the shoppers experience and this is what alibaba/amazon r doing with their latest high tech shopping malls. retail shopping has moved beyond just simple buying for shoppers, they want more than that.
analysts compare companies in same sector merely to evaluate valuation,so is ok,but you simply put two company with no direct competition in one place and telling people one gonna kill another,it is misleading.
