I sold all my 'free shares' immediately after they announced RI!
I couldn't understand the logic behind the RI when the company has turned around and been profitable for the past couple of years and paid no dividend. They had accumulated RM200m of equity over the past 2 years and now they want to raise another RM400m!?
The NTA is about RM5, ROE only ~7% last year. Now by raising cash, the ROE will reduce further.
profit is real, but not that much, only few millions, how to expand?.. it's normal for company to borrow money, but in MNRB case, should consider lucky coz got back-up by cash-rich PNB.
This should come as a positive sign for investors. Imagine if company borrow from banks + interest ?.. without fund injection, business cannot expand rapidly and profit might stay as it is....forever...
agreed with Rjwealth..where that 200 mil profit gone?...is it mean that by requesting additional 400 mil, MNRB actually needed 600 mil to boost its takaful business??
Great , the retail players r getting smarter. If the Co. has that great Biz module and needed fresh fund, go for private placement and reward the shareholders with BI.
i think ri was announced for weeks olready la.. and price drop like he77.. only after QR than rebound. I guess, most ppl expect QR result worst..which is actually not bad.
I went through the list of top 30 shareholders last night. There are a few individuals in the list who owns a few million shares but these shares are pledged shares. Others on the list are several unit trust funds. I don't think the unit trusts are the ones that sold down, maybe in the initial stage when price was still holding at 2.00. Subsequent collapse in price is probably forced selling followingr margin call.
but another question you should ask..if only due to margin call..why on earth the rest of IB, FM, high net-worth investor did not scoop the shares, if the price really at discount??..
everybody seems in concert and agreement to push the price to the rock bottom !!... everybody now suffer damn hard.
But not property counters. In my 20 years plus investing I never got a chance to own an Islamic insurance company until now because price have been too high for my liking. Now MNRB has fallen to a level where downside is limited but upside could be huge because Islamic insurance has huge growth potential.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
