On Tuesday, SingTel announced the launch of GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) with Nvidia AI chips in ASEAN in 3Q2024. It will be among the world’s first to deploy Nvidia’s GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips upon receiving them in early 2025. Share price had continued to trend upwards this week, albeit at a slower pace, opening at $2.48 to close the week at $2.53, registering a 2% weekly gain. Often touted as a pretty steady stocks, it seems the phrase “slow and steady win the race” applies to Singtel, at least for now.

Mabel has already lock profits at YTL power as last week was a good week. Malaysia stock market has been flat over the past 7 days with the Banks industry down 0.6% which is an excellent opportunity for Mabel to use the Profit from YTL Power to continue accumulating Maybank, Malaysia's Top Humanised Financial Services.

Mr. OTB, I need to qualify my following projection that I am not an IT or AI expert but carry out the calculations just from the standpoint of a financial analyst.

I will use the projected capex for the YTL Power's planned 100MW AI data centre project to estimate the number of Nvidia GPUs required. Using the estimated capex figure of US$3.0 billion from CIMB analyst and the announced RM20 billion investment figure from PMX, and taking the expected price tag of US$40,000-45,000 per B200 GPU, I estimate that the 100MW AI data centre will require about:
US$3.0bn/US$40-45k = 70,000 GPUs to
RM20bn/US$40-45k = 100,000 GPUs

If I use CIMB analyst's figure for GPU rental rate of US$2.50/hour (CoreWeave averaged at US$2.23/hr, Lambda at US$2.49/hr and Fluidstack at US$2.89/hr), and assuming 90% usage rate, the 100MW AI data centre with 70,000 GPUs may generate revenue of:

70,000 x US$2.50/hr x 8760 x 90% = US$1.38 billion a year

CGS INTERNATIONAL research (MARCH 8): Starting from April 1, 2024, YTL Power International Bhd’s (YTLP) subsidiary Wessex Water (WW) will impose an increase of at least 11% on water bills for its customers as part of its allowed annual water tariff adjustments. This adjustment surpasses the previous year’s November inflation rate, a typical benchmark for annual tariff setting, which stood at 4.2%. WW explained in its announcement that it deliberately kept tariff increases lower than anticipated during last year’s review to alleviate the immediate financial strain on its customers amid the cost-of-living crisis in the UK. Consequently, this year’s adjustment serves, in part, as a recovery for the under-collection between April 2023 and March 2024. We estimate the tariff revision translates into an increase of at least RM95 million in quarterly revenue for WW, all else remaining equal. This, in our view, should translate into improved earnings for WW and could pave the way for its return to profitability by as early as 3QFY24F.

hase 1 of YTLP’s colocation data centre (DC) is progressing well, with the co-locator expected to complete fit-out works for 8MW (of the 32MW firm capacity) by end-1QCY24. In addition, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, reiterated via his social media account on Feb 29 that he had had further discussions with Nvidia and YTLP on the DC investments, with Phase 1 coming through by June 2024. While finer details on the DC projects are still lacking, our initial calculations suggest that these planned DC investments can contribute as much as RM1.2 billion to RM1.4 billion in net profit to YTLP once fully ramped up in FY27F.
