Nike sales decreasing? Have you checked Nike quarterly reports? Nike's 1Q 2017 revenue went up by 8%. Nike as of FY 2016 clocked in US$ 32 bil in sales while Adidas and Under Armour is US$ 18.48bil and US$3.96 bil in sales respectively. Whose market share is still the largest? Nike, Adidas, Under Armour etc are public listed companies. These are all public information.

In case you didnt realize, in the cash flow statement, Magni in FY 2016 also made a Rm51 mil purchase in inventories. Why buy so much materials if not for major orders? Also no one noticed that Magni's profits have been growing at an annual growth rate more than 35% for the past 10 years? Not only that, it recorded a 40% jump in revenue but 51% jump in net profit in Q1 2017 alone. Strong growth, favourable forex, good dividend track record and its currently selling for PE of 8-9. These are publicly available facts. Invest intelligently.

Q: 78% of revenue come from one customer. Is there any plan to diversify your customer base to reduce the risk of having one customer dominating your revenue
MD: We are looking at other customers diversify. There are few customers we are looking at right now.
MD: We are looking into the customer that we can learn n growth ( viable margin). E.g. we can simply go to wallmart but the margin is so thin and we will not learn anything.

MFund manager : does this mean magni is looking and going to high profile customers?
MD: Yes but we need right customer. E.g High profile brand who have big order is just 1k units which obviously doesnt scale.


How big of a impact of the major customer ( nike ) growth to your company? If their revenue or profit drop would it impact your company ?
MD: Nope.

Does magni have the negotiation power on the price ? As u mention u plan to pass the cost to customer ?
MD: We need to remain competitive ( so we need to be cautious ).

How big is Magni as a supplier to Nike?
MD: We are one of the biggest supplier to Nike.

How much (%) the labour cost toward the overall opersting cost ?
MD: We have both development cost n factory worker cost. We are looking into lean initiative to ensure we can reduce production waste.

Purchase of property , plant and rquipment ranged from 3 to 5.5 millions in 2016. Would that inline with your long term goal of cost control through automation n high performance sewing machines ?
In contrast with that, Magni invested 30 millions every year in investment security.
MD: Invest in cost control n automation doesnt mean spend money blindly. We want to ensure we spend money on the right area. Our investment in security are mainly on fund such as unit trust n FD (?) to ensure viable return n ROI. ( safe funding ? ).

Questions from others.
Are we expecting bonus issue next year?
MD: We have the ability to do (even now)( note:high reserve) that but we need to make sure it is a right decision. May be when we hit rm8 we will do that. ( jokingly positively)

Are we paying out more dividend this year?
MD: We paid 5% last year. We plan to give payout rate of no more than 40% this year. ( have been ard 30 to 35% last few years )
Chairman: Just trust us. Look at our past tracking record!

* we are diversifying but Nike drmand is growthing higher than other customers.
* we are trying to hit 1 bil revenue this year.
* we are one of the biggest supplier for nike

Comment from MD:
* We want stable business. It is not sustainable to have 100mil cash today and borrow 200mil tomorrow.
* we are very good in cash position and we have the ability to growth and sustain.
* we need to look into better ROI of business. Diversify is an area we are looking into but we also need to make sure it is sustainable and long term.

* Magni have both OEM and ODM. They have a design team which could potentially contribute to higher margin.

* magni has growth although nike garment sector didn't growth much.
* Magni have new kain material which is thicker so has less dependent to seasonal factors.
* they have now both sport wear n other type of wears ( casual?) with the use of different type of materials.
