so called 'living with covid' strategy does not mean simply forgetting that covid still exists & still raging & rampaging

OTOH living with covid means living & working as normal BUT keeping all safety health precautionary preventive measures, stringent restrictions, using appropriate preventive ppe, tight sop etc. to keep covid daily cases at as low level as achievable

Posted by Start_0f_the_bull > 2021-10-29 23:42 | Report Abuse

Next week funds from retail traders moves from large companies to penny stocks because distributable profits to shareholders for next year will reduce.

No money? Why not implement back GST@4%??
Stupxd budget will easily kill off the market! Once market collapse, gomen can collect more taxes from market??? Really idoxt!!!

Posted by Start_0f_the_bull > 2021-10-29 23:59 | Report Abuse

Voters not happy if GST re-implemented. Obviously it is an election budget.

Posted by Start_0f_the_bull > 2021-10-30 00:07 | Report Abuse

Companies were actually caught off guard with this additional corporate tax. Relocate investments out of the country may not be possible within a short time.
Anyway, helping the country to recovery due to the pandemic can be meaningful although some area of budget allocation may not be acceptable by the people.

Highest corporate tax rate in Malaysia 33% compares to Singapore (17%), Thailand (20%), Vietnam (20%) and Indonesia (22%)

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:55 | Report Abuse

safety health precautions & preventive measures among frontliners still need to remain, including wearing appropriate ppe in many situations

irregardless of whether their patient is fully vaccinated or not, taking pill or not, young or old, female or male, etc.

gloves are very often important part of appropriate ppe

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:55 | Report Abuse

frankly speaking, I myself have not worn a rubber glove even once in my life

but still the global demand for rubber gloves in 2021 is 500 billion pcs, while current global supply is only 420 billion pcs

it's mostly about the frontliners

global glove demand does not need everybody wearing a glove, guys

comprende?

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:56 | Report Abuse

Well, if it's just up to me alone, I would rather the nurse or female doctor be touching me without gloves when she is examining me.

But she's not gonna have any of that.

No frekkin way, man

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:56 | Report Abuse

So, just going by the actual post-high vaxxing experiences in US, UK, Israel, Singapore etc., it still remains to be seen yet, how things gonna really play out in Malaysia in the weeks & months to come

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:57 | Report Abuse

The upside to high vaxxing rate is that it tends to produce a quick lowering effect on daily infection rate

The downside being, when guys see a quick reduction in daily infection rate, they also get overconfident & overexuberant fast, often too fast for their own good

So, whether sustainable or not sustainable in longer term, would greatly depend on discipline of both the govt & the rakyat

Yep, just as has already been proven in US, UK, Israel, Singapore etc.

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:58 | Report Abuse

While we are now already seeing the earliest daily covid infection rate surges in langkawi due to rapid opening up of travel & tourism sector

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:58 | Report Abuse

A daily covid infection rate of 6,000 per day for a population of only 32 million is not an indicator of competent covid management at all

It is merely a reflection of a previous much worse level of incompetence now only temporarily mitigated

Posted by VolatileIsMyGold > 2021-10-30 00:59 | Report Abuse

So, everyone, better not be lulled into blissful happy delirium so soon about current drop in daily covid cases yet

It might be sustainable, but then again also, it might not

Malaysians are not a uniquely invincible species, so what makes anybody think for even one moment that our experience post-opening up is gonna be any different from those of US, UK, israel, singapore

windfall tax for gloves = bad for gloves
Makmur tax for all industries making rm100 mil and above = bad for gloves
Making more money/profit = bad for gloves
Making less money/profit = bad for gloves

Can you see their scripts? Seem like BN and UMNO. eveyrthing blame on DAP. This group of ppl, everything bad for gloves. hahaha.

Highest corporate tax rate in Malaysia 33% compares to Singapore (17%), Thailand (20%), Vietnam (20%) and Indonesia (22%), if country needed so much tax money, should the government servants cut their salary 30% and restructure their salary's scheme to reduce the government burden ? not requesting more and more money here?

Reducing the overstaff of government servants and minimise the bloated cabinet ministers I believe is most of the normal citizens wishes. We have been talking about these for many years but it won't happen. It is the same wishful dream that government will abolish tolls.
Government servants are one of the biggest vote bank other than the Felda settlers which the government will not take the risk to lose it.

living with covid does not mean everybody forgetting about safety health precautionary preventive measures including stringent restrictions, appropriate ppe, tight sop etc.

living with covid does not mean everybody freely & deliberately exposing themselves to the risk of getting covid, that would just be surefire recipe for another disaster

covid not gonna disappear completely so fast yet just from high vaxxing rate

OTOH, if govt & rakyat get excessively overconfident from temporary reduction in daily cases & both sides drop their guard, covid could quite easily make another upsurge

as has indeed actually happened in US, UK, Israel, Singapore, Russia

this is neither a threat, nor a scare story, but a friendly, brotherly, realistic, responsible, mature adult reminder

yep, mercator is only a small player with a big name, nothing like malaysian Gloves Big 4

Posted by pjseow > Oct 19, 2021 8:49 AM | Report Abuse

The small player like mercator with only 3 to 4 billions capacity will not survive with the ASP coming down to normalised state. Those new comers which havent even.started production will also vanish . They just cant compete when they need to borrow to put up the capacity, do not have the economy of scale., steep.learning curve and and has yet to build up customer relationship. All these factors are detrimental to their survivals.

We should learn lessons from the UK, which is currently experiencing another Covid-19 wave despite the high vaccination rate there. But here in Malaysia, we are already prematurely celebrating AS IF we have beaten the pandemic.

Market will not crash but correction in line with the painful Covid-19 recovery. If citizens and Government have no income and stability , how the market can run and attract foreign funds and investors into Bursa. This is way expected when the Covid-19 hit Malaysia badly several months ago. The volume have already shrunk 2 months since then. The citizens have finally hit the reality that savings are getting lesser and economy is opening back. Less time to participate in the market and start to earn back some income. Nimble play strategy when there is cheap bargain hunting.

Those who kept asking you to buy of course also the one who will cash out quietly when there is money to be made. Or else who contribute to their donations ? Not only gloves but other sectors too. Just don't buy when it's higher than their original entry price. Selling have never made known on the spot but buying kept yelling day and night. These group of people deserved to be bashed ! Hah..
