The Board of Directors of DPS wishes to announce the following update to the Material Litigation.

On the 22 April 2016, the Court of Appeal delivered its decision on the appeal filed by MSIG. The Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal by MSIG on the issues of liability and interest and thereby affirmed the High Court decision on the said issues.

However the Court of Appeal allowed the appeal by MSIG in parton the issue of quantum; whereby the Court of Appeal directed that the matter be sent back to the High Court for a reassessment of damages.

This announcement is dated 11 May 2016.

Oh Yeah... I guess High Court will no overthrow own judgement, stone on their own feet.
But I prefer DPS can off-court negotiation to pocket in claim asap. So DPS can start JV project asap :p

JJChan, 0.16 is over conservatism.
DPS NTA is RM0.20, insurance claim plus interest estimate 20mil++ and JV estimate profit 47mil. It can go more & more further.
Hope got more & more property development plan announce :p

For impartiality, another High Court judge will be assigned to the case....Usually 2/4 weeks
will be given to both parties to settle the quantum among themselves...
If cannot resolved, then the judge will set the quantum after presentations from parties.....
the good thing now the claims(no matter what amount) is guarantee.......No hope for MSIG
to appeal to Federal Court bcoz Appeal Court assign the case back to High Court and not
Federal Court......must be settled

Dear frens, the 1st element is confirmed. The 2nd element which is the quarter result will be very impressive so in short term this counter should be quite interesting. Looking at the property sector,the land is a freehold land(free from encumbrances) so the land can be pledged as security at the value quoted by valuer at 25Million. If take into consideration of the insurance claim at 15million(conservative figure) DPS cash in hand is 40million which is more than enough to undertake the 200million project which to be commenced in year 2017. DPS is ready to move into property sector aggresively.

Further to that, DPS is fortunate enough that the chinese tycoon and developer giants are eyeing the property company in malaccà due to the impression malacca. Yong Tai is a very good example that attracted hong kong investor to invest. DPS will be the potential target
1st element is the freehold title,chinese developer love freehold land. 2nd element is DPS is a listed company in property segment. One stone kills 2 birds, if the chinese developer invest in DPS,over the nite they have direct interest in listed company and owns the land banks of DPS. 1 last point is the location of the proposed JV proposal whicj strategically located near to the KL Singapore high speed train station in malacca.
