Wow I am back here again. Heard rumors from some inst sales friends that they have positive news about the Ghana contract..coming...haven't price in yet..once announce sure EPF come sapu sapu all back--fly to 3.30-3.50 like last high. I think tomorrow should announce liao, if not last week. I had Yinson 1.5 years ago..they usually like to announce on Friday evening (like Datasonic)...waiting for the good news..can eat some first..the sellers today gonna regret soon!!! Yinson boleh!!!

Hello. May I know why EPF ceased to be substantial shareholder if something is brewing? Is there any risk of job delay in Ghana due to low O&G price?

inson Holdings Berhad (“Yinson” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the consortium of Yinson Production (West Africa) Pte Ltd (“YPWA”) and Yinson Production West Africa Limited (“YPWAL”) (collectively “the Contractor”) have been awarded a contract for the chartering, operation and maintenance of a FPSO facility (“the Contract”) by eni Ghana exploration & production ltd. (“eni Ghana”) at the Offshore Cape Three Points Block (“OCTP”), located in the Tano Basin approximately 60 km off the coast of Ghana.

Pursuant to the Contract, YPWA is the FPSO chartering company while YPWAL is the company engaged in the operation and maintenance of the FPSO.

The Company is also pleased to announce that the signing of the Contract took place on 27th January 2015 and the effective date of the Contract is 27th January 2015.

Details of the Contract

The Contract is for a firm charter period of 15 years with 5 yearly extension options exercisable by the client. The estimated aggregate value of the Contract (excluding reimbursable and cost escalation) during the firm charter period is approximately up to USD2.539 billion (equivalent to approximately RM9.158 billion at an exchange rate of USD1:MYR3.607) and an estimated total aggregate value of up to USD3.256 billion (equivalent to approximately RM11.744 billion at an exchange rate of USD1:MYR3.607) if eni Ghana exercises all 5 yearly extension options.

The FPSO is expected to commence operations in the OCTP block in 2017.

YPWA is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company incorporated in Singapore on 5 May 2014 and is principally involved in the ship management services incidental to oil and gas extraction (excluding surveying).

YPWAL is a Ghanaian joint venture company of Yinson Production Pte. Ltd. (“YPPL”)(49%) and Oil and Marine Agencies Ghana Ltd (“OMA”)(51%). YPPL is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Yinson principally involved in the ship management services incidental to oil and gas extraction. OMA is an indigenous Ghanaian company, principally involved, among others, in the provision of offshore support services, logistics & freight forwarding, vessel husbandry and liner agency.

eni Ghana is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eni S.p.A, a multinational oil and gas company based in Italy and listed on the Milan Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange. The OCTP block is operated by eni Ghana (47.2%) with other partners of the joint venture, Vitol Upstream Ghana Limited (37.8%) and the Ghanaian state-owned Ghana National Petroleum Company (15%) with the option for an additional 5%.

Financial Effect

The Contract will contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of the Yinson Group for the financial year ending 31 January 2018 as well as the financial periods thereafter for the duration of the Contract.

Wait until you see the new tp first. 2.54 billion USD is huge sum over 15 years. Winning this project means a lot and may open up further contracts opportunity.
This should be a long term defensive stock given that it is contract base and not affected by oil price. Best amongst the oil related counter.

lol chinesetea, the upgrade of tp won't help much simply because the earnings are coming in only much later. The discount to tp will be very high in this case.

http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/rhb-research-downgrades-yinson-neutral-trims-target-price

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 29): RHB Research has downgraded Yinson Holdings Bhd ( Financial Dashboard) to “Neutral” with a lower target price of RM3.05 (from RM3.19) after Yinson received the green light to develop a US$2.5 billion, 15-year FPSO contract for the OCTP project, off Ghana.

In a note today, the research house said the FPSO would triple firm orderbook to US$3.5 billion, boosting the overall firm contract period and track record.

“However, we envision limited upside and anticipate profit-taking upon contract win.

“It will take three years for material earnings contribution,” it said.

http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/ringgit-falls-asia%E2%80%99s-worst-performing-currency-weighed-oil

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 29): Malaysia’s ringgit extended losses as this month’s worst-performing Asian currency on concern a protracted drop in crude will weigh on the oil-exporting nation.

The currency declined for a second day and reached a new 2009 low after Brent slid 2.3 percent overnight on a report showing U.S. oil stockpiles climbed to the highest level in weekly data going back to 1982. Malaysia kept borrowing costs at 3.25 percent Wednesday even as central banks around the world eased monetary policy amid slowing global growth and falling consumer prices. The nation’s 10-year government bond yields headed for the biggest monthly decline since 2008.

“The ringgit is weakening on concern crude oil will fall further after the U.S. record inventory report,” said Nizam Idris, Singapore-based head of foreign-exchange and fixed-income strategy at Macquarie Bank Ltd. “There is also growing pressure on central banks to ease monetary policy and Malaysia is probably doing so via weakening the currency.”

The ringgit fell 0.4 percent to 3.6340 a dollar as of 10:08 a.m. in Kuala Lumpur, adding to yesterday’s 0.6 percent loss, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The currency earlier touched 3.6375, the weakest level since April 2009.

ING Groep NV cut its year-end forecast for the ringgit to 3.78 a dollar from 3.68, after Singapore’s central bank unexpectedly eased policy yesterday via its currency band.

Bank Negara Malaysia’s decision to hold the benchmark rate was predicted by all 19 economists surveyed by Bloomberg. The policy stance is accommodative and appropriate given the developments in monetary and financial conditions, the central bank said in a statement Wednesday.

Prime Minister Najib Razak last week reduced the country’s 2015 growth forecast to 4.5 percent to 5.5 percent from as much as 6 percent earlier due to the drop in oil.

The yield on the nation’s 10-year sovereign bonds was little changed at 3.86 percent after yesterday dropping six basis points, or 0.06 percentage point, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The yield has fallen 29 basis points this month, the most for a benchmark of that maturity since December 2008.
