KUALA LUMPUR: Kumpulan Powernet Bhd has accepted a RM65.87mil contract to design and build an 8MW hydropower plant in the Vientiane province in Laos.
In a statement released to Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday it said that it had accepted the letter of award from Zhenghong Building Road & Bridge Construction Co. Ltd.
The job scope will include design, supply, construction, commissioning and completion of the hydropower plant. The contract price includes the supply and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Kpower said the target completion date was within 18 months from the commencement date or such other extended period.
Its board anticipates the foray into the provision of construction related services due to the project will result in a diversion of 25% or more of the net assets of KPower and/or will contribute 25% or more to the net profits.
Datuk Chew Kam Wah is previous owner for Kpower,he sold his entire shares of Kpower to Karim,Currently he is major shareholder in Gunung, he appointed his old staff in Kpower as non independent director in Gunung.
In these small issued shares companies, the price movement, with a solid balance sheet and cashflow, is all about the demand and supply of the shares period. Not about whether Karim is part of it. What goes up... comes down, does Kpower have a balance sheet worth looking at or a cadhflow to support its future plans? Quietly, Gunung has it all, and if the buyer of Gunung has an appetite, then the supply of shares is less and the demand is real. What happens next?
That is not the reason why he quits. Gunung is developing a no of hydroelectric projects in Perak and the profits will come not now but in the near future and the incomes from the plants with secured PPA with TNB will be robust and very attractive. Just be patience.
No worry! Hydro power plants will not be affected by virus. Gunung is one of the few counters not negatively impacted by this virus pandemic. As strong as a mountain and it will stand out.
