Q2'16 result showed marginal improvement as compared to Q1'16 but it was lower if compare to Q2'15 mainly no profit contributed from manufacturing division. Anyway, its balance sheet look stronger QoQ/YoY , cash on hand already at ~160million which is huge for SME thus, its share price should not be judged based on EPS. Expected mild profit taking on this few day but the share price will go up to RM1 very soon. ( Note: Its parent company A&M share price has gone up today with moderate vol....sound good)
PenguinDad, if the mgmt is. keen to made use of the money for greater investment, then it will bring handsome profit to the group. I guess mgmt will re-focus/re-align its business plan since the automotive/mfg division profit had fallen quite significantly. Next core business could be on property div which may show recovery by next 2 years.
A&M had acquired plenty of land at Carey Island and it is possible to joint venture with HIL to develop township/low to high end residence there, HIL will focus on low to middle cost range of land property which will definitely attract many buyer at current soft market, it will be more interestingly HIL may continue enjoy high profit margin due to low price of landbank acquire by A&M
Ymchan, how long would that be 10 or 20 years? I'm too long to wait to see it. Lah. This is always the nice story that analyst try to paint for future prospect and not materialize yet. Good for dreaming.
PenguinDad, Well of course the mgmt. effort is essential to made this nice story come through but we as a genuine investor should study and analyze whether this can be a realistic plan or not . By looking at current soft property market, high end condo/property surplus issue as pointed out by Mr. Koon may not affect much well-known property developer as what has been declared by Mr. Robert Kuok that the price of property will not go down despite the market is generally stated as sluggish
Ymchan, HIL already miss the last bull run of the property market and next round would be another few years. I think the management focus more on A&M and neglected HIL. From the price, you can see and don't much activities. See a lot of unhappy shareholders comment on this forum.
PenguinDad, when we see a lot of frustrated investor/share holder sold out their share is indirectly giving us the signal of bearish reversal for this counter because seller is getting less and lesser.You can see this round of price surge surpass 0.90 is because buyer willing to accumulate the share at higher price which they could not get them substantially at the price range of 0.80 to 0.90. HIL stay good chance in making more profit as compare to A&M as they focus on affordable housing(low to middle cost) surrounding Klang Valley. I guess affordable housing programme may get more support or incentive from this year budget as government has taken several measure to resolve housing issue.
During sluggish property market now "HCK is set to launch 9 development projects with RM8b GDV, will comprise residential, commercial and industrial lots" -- WHY ???
PengiunDad, HCK has no relationship with HIL/A&M. I just curious why HCK capital launch new property development project during sluggish market now. So far, my understanding is Mr. Clifford Hii also holding plenty of land bank (low entry cost) which can inject to HCK . Its share price is always stands firm above 3.00 despite EPS is low at this point of time as many analysts has projected high profit margin from its property development project.

Well, more challenges would be faced by property developer thus, a strategic business plan and pricing will determine which property company will enjoy handsome return during downtrend market now. Therefore, we need to search and aim for the company that would be benefited.

Investor may think that this could be a bad new since owner disposing their share in open market. However, i have different point of view for share holding changed, the positive view is new substantial share holder emerge to absorp 8 million share disposed at price ranging 0.9 to 0.96
i4investor, owner selling share to new share holder at designated price thus, u hv seen big vol. transacted..no trap being set by big player however, share price could be going up further after sufficient share holding by new investor
PenguinDad, I don't know who is the new investor. Sometimes is good if we don't know who has brought the share from major shareholder like example: PAOS share gone up from 0.70 to 1.10 after off market deal reported in July'16
