Hotels
The New York market continues to exhibit steady demand, with mid-scale hotel occupancy and room demand in New York City (“NYC”) rising. Springhill Suites Midtown Manhattan is set to build on this momentum with higher Occupancy and Average Daily Rate, leading to potentially higher Room and Total Revenues compared to 2023. We are strategically leveraging premium and suite rooms while targeting emerging segments in the growing Entertainment and Biotech industries in NYC. The management will bolster revenue management efforts by investing in e-commerce and digital marketing, developing packages and special corporate rates for weekends, and continuing
to grow and reclaim group and catering revenues.

Doubletree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Beach (“DAH”) has in the first half of 2024, surpassed both the previous year's performance and initial projections in Occupancy, Total Revenue, Revenue Per Available Room, Gross Operating Profit, and EBITDA. Average Daily Rate (ADR) finished the first half on par with initial estimates but outperformed the previous year. The remainder of 2024 is anticipated to be positive. DAH will continue to drive a strong ADR by focusing on higher-rated corporate and government sectors with projects and extended stays within the construction, energy, and IT sectors. Efforts to increase weekend occupancy and a strong focus on Group, Corporate, and Military Requests for Proposals in 2024 will attempt to replace some of the continued soft demand from the Japanese market. DAH will continue soliciting contracts with
airlines to house crews as well as distressed passengers for short-term quick occupancy fillers.

The Delta Hotels by Marriott- Toronto Airport located in Canada had in the first half of the year similarly exceeded both the previous year’s performance and initial projections. We anticipate continued positive performance for the full year, with room and F&B revenues exceeding prior year actuals. The growth is mainly driven by group business, which includes room nights and meeting events, and is essential to the hotel’s overall success as it brings in additional revenue streams. Parking revenue has also shown significant increases over the first six months of 2024. New equipment and technology installed for the parking system have generated higher-than-anticipated parking revenue.

Tan Tua Pao, its net cash becomes zero after deducting its debts. Keck Seng has a net cash of over RM1.1 billion and share investments worth over RM400 million

"Why 9000 acres small can amount to how much if revalued?"
Keck Seng's land at Kangkar Pulai area (about 650 acres) is worth RM2 million per acre. Its remaining land in Pasir Gudang area is worth at least RM450,000 per acre. Total land worth about RM4.5 billion. Its paid up capital is only RM360 million. TSH's land in the Kalimantan forest is worth at most RM10,000 per acre.

Calvin the Tua Pao believes that 6 and 7 star hotels would soon be built in Nusantara. He is either boloh or still immature in his thinking to be so easily taken in by some publicity stunts by people who are keen to carry Jokowi's balls. If someone tells me that Singapore would soon start to build 6 and 7 star hotels, I believe this is plausible and viable but to believe that such hotels would soon be built in Nusantara is just crazy.

Since Tsh's Palm oil estates in Sabah only 6,000 acres (refer Bursa)
Out of 150,000 acres it is only 4%

So to take 20% out of 4% on renewal is only less than 1%

Very negligible

And will be very good for Tsh

If total Malaysia palm oil lands of so many many millions reduced by 20% that will lead to even lower palm oil production as more palm oil lands taken away for housing or other purposes

Plus President Probowo going to implement B50 will take even more Cpo out of market

In that case we should see Cpo prices rise above Rm4,000 MT permanently

Who knows?

Cpo might even go above Rm5000 MT again or higher in future due to scarcity

A lot of people have already voiced their objections against the DPM's proposal. Easier said than done. It could be turned into a political issue. Fare enough if the land has been left idle for many years but if it is planted with 10 year old oil palms?

The DPM only voiced his opinion, whether it would be implemented or not is still anybody's guess. For sure it would encounter strong objections but plantation stock promoters are already getting excited.

This 20% ruling on leasehold lands taken away on renewal impact Kseng (9,000 acres) rather than Tsh 150,000 acres

Why?

Answer:

KSeng 9,000 acres all in Malaysia whereas for Tsh only 6,000 acres in Malaysia (rest of 144 acres got the opposite wind of fortune)

So Kseng will see 1,800 acres taken away while for Tsh only 1,500 acres are affected

Moreover,

In Indonesia 94,700 acres which are located near ikn nusantara will be extended to 190 years for attracting investors

What a change of so good fortunate windfall for Tsh

Tsh so bash down now rewarded by heaven

By per centage Kseng ( gek sim leow) will lose 20%

Gong Kia Tua Pao Tan didn't get the facts right first and started to spew out rubbish. Get the facts right or you going to disgrace yourself. The DPM's proposal, if and only if implemented (very, very unlikely) would only affect leasehold lands. Gong Kia is so excited now.
