Gongkia Tua Pao, read my comment again. Should a 10% tariff on all US imports be imposed, it would affect many other countries as well, not just Malaysia. Are you so sure that Trump would be elected? The US won't impose sanctions on Malaysia just because it decides to join BRICS. Listen to this interview granted by your fellow countryman Kishore to enlighten youeself.

Gong Kia Calvin the veritable clown always shoots himself in the foot. Someone wrote that Malaysia would be locked out of the semiconductor supply chain should it join BRICS. I disagreed and commented that Malaysia is too insignificant and unlikely to be targeted by the US. This clown immediately called me a foolishinvestor and provided a link. The link only mentioned Trump would impose 10% tariffs on all US imports and several countries would be adversely affected, including Malaysia. No mention of any sanction should Malaysia join the BRICS. Such an interesting clown.

calvintaneng, our dearest Singaporean friend,

It should be obvious from the many comments above, you are irritating a lot of people in this forum. Perhaps, our Singaporean friend should be kind enough on HIMSELF, to tone down his behaviour and activities. My advice to our Singaporean friend is to reduce his activities by 90%: hopefully, by staying focus and disciplined, our Singaporean friend can produce more high quality posts. For now, our Singaporean friend is just spamming. Many have noticed our Singaporean friend's posting the same repeatedly in many threads often. Surprisingly, many tolerated our Singaporean friend's indiscretion due to their politeness.

Gong Kia Calvin is very concerned about Keck Seng's performance. Nothing to worry about this counter as I bought most of my Keck Seng shares over 20 years ago at an average cost of well under RM2.50 per share. I did buy some recently and lose around 5%. Unlike TSH with no net cash, Keck Seng has a net cash of RM1.1 billion (RM1.16 billion actually but I have allowed for a foreign exchange loss of about RM50 million due to Ringgit's sudden rise) and share investments exceeding RM400 million. It has other properties worth an estimated RM6 billion. You should worry about your 6 and 7 star hotels under construction in Nusantara now.

B50 will take up 18 million tonnes out of 48 million Tonnes of Cpo produced in Indonesia or 37.5%

Plus many more lands already see palm oil cut down

1. Over 1,500 acres in Kulai Young Estate sold by Bplant to Ytl power for Data Center (all these oil palms are cut down to make way for Data Center

2. In Bulugan Indonesia out of 33,000 acres 20,000 acres were sold and oil palms cut down to do greentech industrial park

3. In Kedah Ltat sold 1,200 acres palm oil to be converted to Kulim High Tech Park

4. In Selangor /N Sembilan Over 500 acres Boustead took from Bplant to do New Township

Also Jcorp after taking Kulim private hived of 15,000 acres of oil palm in Pengerang to build New Townships

Tmakmur taken private to expand Kota Sas Township in Pahang

Scientex has converted tens of thousands of palm oil in Kedah, Johor and other places to New Townships

And Many many thousands of acres more every where in Kedah, Penang Mainland, Selangor, Cyberjaya and now Johor have seen Mushrooming Data Centers replacing oil palms acre by acre: State by State and now Sarawak also going to build Data Centers and with RE (renewable energy) lots of palm oil lands will turn into solar farm

Where got enough palm oil?

World population continues to increase so demand is fixed with supply dwindling Cpo prices can only go higher and higher

SO THERE IS A LONG TERM STRUCTURAL UPTREND FOR CPO PRICES

Hahaha Sales has given a very good rebuttal against dumb naysayers

They are so blinded by prejudice and forgot

Dbs Bank is in Top 10 of Tsh with 38 million Tsh shares

Public Mutual got 3 funds in Tsh combined volume put them in top 8 of Tsh

Are these dumb naysayers think they smarter than Public Mutual Fund analyst?

Singapore Uob Bank in top 7 of Tsh with 46.4 millions Tsh shares

Also they never bother to ask why Tsh Chairman Kelvin bought until he got 342 Million Tsh shares

And why did not question why Director Tan Aik Yong dared to buy 16 million Tsh at the high price of over Rm1.64 sen?

Plus why Director Lim Fook Hin who first managed Inno have sold all his Inno shares and now own 2.5 Millions Tsh shares?

Singapore Uob Bank in top 7 of Tsh with 46.4 millions Tsh shares"

Calvin the Tua Pao, are you dead sure that DBS and UOB respectively own 38 million and 46.4 million TSH shares or the banks are just nominees holding these shares for someone else just like Julius Baer holding Keck Seng shares on behalf of the Ho family? There is also a possibility that those shares are being pledged to the banks by some borrowers.

The clown never ceases to amaze. His ignorance is mind boggling. Just because DBS Bank and UOB Bank are listed in the annual reports as having a beneficial interest in TSH shares registered through an exempt nominee name does not make them owners of the shares. Not any more than The Central Depository Pte Ltd owns 250m shares registered in its name following TSH's secondary listing in Singapore.

Among the top plantation stocks in Malaysia is Kim Loong. It is a very well managed plantation company. Those who have invested in Kim Loong are laughing all the way to the banks.

Cannot say the same thing for TSH recommended by our Singaporean friend, who bought at 1.78 and now trying to claw back his losses through hyper-activities.

Most money in the stock market are made by those who know how to identify quality companies, buying them at fair or low prices, holding them for the long term and just sitting on their asses. Time in the market, and not timing the market.

How to be fabulously rich? Stay with quality companies for the long term (5, 10, 15, 20 or more years).

Compare JTiasa and KMLoong

Look at the historical 10 or 20 years revenues and earnings.
Which company had consistent and growing revenues and earnings? JTiasa: earnings were volatile. There were years when these were losses. Losses for a plantation stock???

Which company had rewarded its shareholders more over the last 10 years? Look at the price charts of these 2 companies.
Why are their price charts so different? Which would you have preferred, on hindsight? :-)

Have a great investing philosophy and stay within it. I never invest for the short term (very rarely).

Posted by Integrity. Intelligent. Industrious. 3iii (iiinvestsmart)$€£¥ > 2 months ago | Report Abuse

Investing is a journey and also an experiential one. You have the company's business and the share price. Stay focus on the company's business ALWAYS. Share price should not influence you so much, it is only there for you to take advantage of. Of course, if price influences an investor emotionally, he/she will not be a safe investor.

Posted by Integrity. Intelligent. Industrious. 3iii (iiinvestsmart)$€£¥ > 2 months ago | Report Abuse

The owners of KMLoong and Crescendo are the same. They have been good stewards of both these companies.
KMLoong: high ROEs, P/B is reasonable, DY is 5%+.
Well managed. Growth is slow and steady; but more challenging going forward.

Sslee

I am not saying KMLoong is not a good company with good management. I am just comparing both as value buy as plantation company.

Posted by Integrity. Intelligent. Industrious. 3iii (iiinvestsmart)$€£¥ > 2 months ago | Report Abuse

SSLee

Value investing: growth and value are two sides of the same coin.
In my experience, all investing is value investing. You have to decide which game you wish to play (Great/Good/Gruesome companies). You have to decide on your investing time horizon (short term, medium term or long term). You have to decide on your investment objectives (compounding at a certain high rates of returns over 5 to 10 years, at low risk).

You can then choose to buy a company valued at $1 at 50 sen, or, buy a company priced at $1 today but with a value of $2 in 5 years (due to growth, etc). I choose to stay with the latter.

By the way past record do has its relavant but cannot represent the future.

I give my benefit of doubts to current Jayatiasa management as they had done a great job in generating over RM 360 million cash flow from operating activities that make jayatiasa a net cash company and start to give good dividend.
