Dangerous. Don't see why they can't pay at least 50%dividends unless they are not confident and need to raise provision for BD in the near future

Dangerous? haha

For full FY17, net profit doubled to RM78.95 million against RM39.57 million in FY 16, mainly from the enlarged loan base in its consumer financing segment.

Rcecap unlike banks, it can't take deposit from general public for its lending business. it needs to borrow or raise fund from shareholders to grow ( Aeon credit is doing right issues to raise fund). Hence, if it adopts high dividend payout, it may have to raise fund in order to grow. Moderate dividend payout and keeping fund to grow will be better for a smaller size company like RCE. My 2 cents.

Post 4QR Release, it's now a highly debatable "TELL ME WHY, TELL ME WHY?" situation.
1. RCE Capital 4Q Triples but 3 sen dividend?
2. Net profit doubles but no special dividend?
3. Management confident of sustaining FY17 performance yet 3 sen (FY17) vis 14 sen (FY16)?
It's totally against conventional thinking logic, isn't it?
TELL ME WHY, TELL ME WHY?

Ahhuat02, congratulations for being the first person to respond to this discussion topic.
Glad to know you're taking financial and banking courses. It will greatly help in investing.
Fully agree with you that the management has valid reasons to declare 3 sen dividend despite good performance.

Is it correct? Many of rcecap shareholders average price is around
2.70 ex-consolidation?

Thats assuming one bought around 0.75 last year.
0.75x4=3
3 minus 0.30 capital repayment=2.7

Lysrn Teoh, you've have a good point. Some companies with losses, no dividends but Directors ask for increase in fees. Some with good performance with no dividends declared but Directors continue getting good fees.

Posted by Lysrn Teoh > 2017-05-28 02:29 | Report Abuse

Haha.. because I'm studies finance & marketing last time. So market and finance will affect each other. Some directors like to play for win win game, they need lots of funds to control the market. But RCE will giving you a good news and result coming ahead.

Am trying to find out the average ex-consolidation price.
Assuming buy at 0.75 sen/share
Capital repayment 0.075/share
0.75-0.075= 0.675

Consolidate~ 0.675x4 =2.7

No? Anyone knows?

Posted by Multibagger > 2017-05-28 07:23 | Report Abuse

It's ROE is around 17%, i think its ok they keep profit to continue to grow. If ROE is low single digit, then I prefer them to give more dividend to me for investment in other stocks. Unlike some other businesses, cash is their inventory...they need cash in order to generate more business. Again my 2 cents.

multibagger, CASH IS KING in volatile, uncertain market.
1. A friend of mine shared his finding that unit trust funds with about 25%-30% cash allocation fared very well in EDGE-THOMSON LIPPER AWARDS & MORNING STAR AWARDS.

The 5 years chart showed 0.50 lowest in 2013 and 0.70 lowest for 2016
So , whomever bought around 2013 is in the money.
Those bought around 2016 is holding at a loss
This is my finding

Learnt something today. Share split or bonus issue, price reflects as it is but it is total opposite for share consolidation. It does not reflect the pre-price. Ok get it

multibagger, the higher cash allocation is not in anticipation of market crash.

Rather, it is more for leveraging on uncertainty or volatility to exploit bottom-fishing of undervalued securities.

Secondly, to rebalance the fund portfolio according to the changing market cycles.

Thirdly, adopting an active asset allocation strategy to protect, preserve and optimize capital growth.

People always think like that. Look back Year 2015, RCE from average 0.7 become today 1.84. People will think I missed it, before so cheap and why I didn't buy in at that time? Example Genting, before also very cheap and now very high price but still got investor willing to enter the market. Just my 2 cents. Nobody never know how much is this share worth for. When you chasing at low price but some investor think it's a potential share and they are chasing for high price and high performance.
