KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 28): XOX Bhd is keen to develop customised solutions on its TraX platform for the pharmaceutical sector, following the roll out of the platform for the food industry.

Chief executive officer Ng Kok Heng said TraX is a web and mobile application platform developed by XOX and powered by AntChain’s Traceability-as-a-Service (TaaS), a blockchain-based traceability solution combined with Internet of Things technologies to enable trust, increase efficiency and provide end-to-end transparency on information along the supply chain.

AntChain is a blockchain business of Alibaba’s payment arm Ant Group.


Ng said TraX is able to provide scalable and cost-efficient solutions for the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector to achieve greater product traceability and information transparency on a supply chain, thus prevent fraud and protect product authentication.

“XOX is talking with many potential partners in the industry keen to adopt TraX,” he told a media conference here today.

Earlier, Ng said a Chinese restaurant chain under Oversea Enterprise Bhd has adopted TraX to further enhance food traceability and safety.

Oversea Enterprise is the first local SME to adopt AntChain TaaS in Southeast Asia.

AntChain head of international business Kenny Tan said AntChain has pioneered over 50 blockchain commercial applications and use cases since its inception in 2016.

“Together with local partners such as XOX, we look forward to bringing these blockchain innovations to Southeast Asia to accelerate the digital transformation of SMEs in a data-driven world,” Tan said.

XOX and AntChain also plan to introduce Creator ID, built on AntChain Digital Asset solution to enable digitisation of real assets such as copyright and cultural art on blockchain.

The Board of Directors (“Board”) of XOX Bhd (“XOX” or the “Company”) wishes to inform that XOX Mobile Sdn. Bhd. (“XOX Mobile”), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, had on 13 November 2020 entered into a Master Service Agreement (“Agreement”) with MACPIE Berhad (formerly known as Sterling Progress Berhad) (“MACPIE”) relating to the provision of any services by MACPIE to XOX Mobile for the organisation of the Company’s event known as “XOX Unity Player Unknown’s Battleground (PUBG) League” (“Event”) on a fees to be agreed by MACPIE and XOX Mobile (collectively as “the Parties”).



MACPIE is a public limited company listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad which engaged in the business of music and entertainment industries.



Pursuant to the Agreement, the initial price for the services provided agreed by both Parties is set at RM2,300,000 and the services will be provided for a minimum of 4 months including campaign promotion and Event.



The Agreement will become effective on 13 November 2020 and will continue until the successful organisation of the Event, unless terminated earlier by one of the Parties. Upon any expiration or termination of the Agreement, each party’s obligations under the Agreement will immediately cease.



The Agreement will not have any effects on the share capital and shareholding structure of the Company and is not expected to have any material immediate effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing of XOX for the financial year ending 30 September 2021.



Similar to all business entities, the risk factors affecting the execution of the Agreement, including but not limited to business risks such as prudent financial management, changes in political, economic and regulatory conditions. However, the Board will continue to exercise due care in considering the risks associated with the Agreement and will take appropriate measures in planning the successful execution of the Agreement.



The Agreement being incurred in the ordinary course of business of the Group, is not subject to the approval of the shareholders.



None of the Directors and/or other major shareholders of the Company and/ or any persons connected to them have any interest, direct or indirect, in relation to the Agreement.



The Board, after due consideration, is of the opinion that the Agreement is in the best interest of the Group.

awarded to Macpie Bhd to originate, organise and execute a mobile E-sports League of its
first kind in Malaysia.
E-sports are already events being competed in the SEA Games in 2019 in Manila, with 6
medals being contested. Console and mobile gamers are the new generation of athletes and
in the digital age, represents the direction of technology development and consumer
behaviour worldwide.
With E-Sports being the primary focus in a captive audience worldwide and its growth in user
participation, media recognition and revenue growth, XOX with its huge mobile customer
base together with Macpie with its experience in events organisation and digital media
management has signed a deal today where Macpie Bhd will assist XOX in setting up a "XOX
Unity Player Unknown BattleGround (PUBG) League".
Player Unknown BattleGround (PUBG) is one of the world's most widely played mobile
game. PUBG gained a devoted legion of fans in a short space of time after its release
and cumulative unit sales of the game hit 50 million in June 2018. The game has also been
critically acclaimed - it won the Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards in 2017 and its
free-to-play mobile version for Android and iOS, released in 2018, was nominated for Best
Mobile Game at The 2018 Game Awards. This critical success has also translated into
commercial success as the game generated millions of U.S. dollars of revenue, most
successfully in the United States.

Based on research by Statistica, the mobile gaming market in Malaysia is growing by 10% per
annum with an Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of 17.00 USD per person, with the captive
audience between 25 - 34 year olds. The forecast for 2020 is that the mobile gaming market
will account for 117Milion USD in revenue with approximately 6.5 million participants.
Macpie Bhd, as a fulfilment agency for XOX will look to make E-Sports and digital events the
cornerstone of its business to offset the loss of its traditional concerts and events
management business due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"We realise that due to the pandemic and the Conditional Control Movement Orders in place,
society has begun to adopt more digital entertainment platforms and E-sports events is an
unique way to build content and develop digital presence to maintain consumer spending

for Q3,2020 ended 30/9/2020 was almost breakeven but reported losses were mainly due to one-off transactions. :) The coming quarter without such write-offs should show result :)


The Group reported a loss after tax of RM40.60 million against loss after tax of RM20.91 million of preceding year
corresponding quarter the higher losses were due to:-
1. Impairment loss of RM12.35m on the equipment and investment in Indonesia due to the uncertainty over the future
business development due to Covid 19 impact;
2. Fair value adjustment of RM21.45m under the Share Issuance Scheme;
3. Advertising activation on branding to support the fintech business expansion;
