KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 21): AirAsia X Bhd (AAX), whose co-founder Tan Sri Tony Fernandes expects 2019 to be its best-ever year, posted a net loss of RM99.27 million or 2.4 sen per share for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2018 (4QFY18), a contrast to net profit of RM84.42 million or two sen per share in the previous corresponding quarter.
Quarterly revenue dropped 5.93% to RM1.15 billion from RM1.22 billion in 4QFY17, according to its filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
The low-cost long-haul carrier attributed the loss-making quarter to lower operating profit as a result of increase in average fuel price of US$89 per barrel in 4QFY18 compared with US$69 per barrel in 4QFY17.
Mabel, you asked to give him time? Have been holding since IPO. Now i have cut lost and go to other counter to make more profit. Cannot keep on waiting. Wasted the chance of making money. Even cut lost at 0.25 and still can make back some money.
Hi Sales, I would agree with you. Waiting for AAX has wasted a lot of our time and money for waiting for years and we ends up losing more money for being waiting. Even it is on paper loss is still a loss if we continue to hold the shares. For those who sold it will lose money as the share price has dropped so much from the IPO price
Losing money like running tap water yet trading above its book value at P/B 1.6x. Extremely expensive at current valuation. STRONG SELL at fair price of 0.07 @ P/B 0.5x.
..rileks guys..ta wise still got room to go down till 205 or maybe bounce at 215..my advice..u can weight ur bid value..easier to fly then...the funny thing is so many q to letgo this counter..hopeless oledy..how come aax want to fly..haha..seems tf need to push hard to make everyone can fly..
See the value of the company from every angle of the industry it in. The grounded of 737max open extra opportunity for AA or AAX as they only use Airbus. Then you look at the competitors and how many 737max was operate in the region.
China Eastern Airlines 14 China Southern Airlines16 Air China 15 Hainan Airlines 7 Lion Air 14 Shandong Airlines 6 Shenzhen Airlines 5 SilkAir 5 XiamenAir 5...
when supply was reduce, demand will increase so that why aax increase more flight to China.
Will be profit making this year because they had hedged 4.8million barrel of brent crude at low price.... no matter how high is jetfuel goes, they will be able to earn back from the derivatives as the movement of brent crude and jetfuel is in tandem.... besides, they had stop routes which r not profitable... their cost per available seat exclude fuel also decreasing.... 2019 will be a good year for AAX....
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
