Hmmm Later quarter Deferred Tax Gain 50M, this quarter Deferred Tax Loss 117M!!!!? Overall this quarter 4Q18 is much better than the 3Q18 in terms of the operating profit, but there was a Deferred Tax Gain of 50m in 3Q18 (otherwise last quarter would look worse) and has been transferred to this quarter.

The Company posted NOP of RM27.4 million in 4Q18 as compared to NOP of RM119.8 million in the same period of 2017. This was mainly attributed by increase in average fuel price from USD69 per barrel in 4Q17 to USD89 per barrel in 4Q18. Net loss for the quarter stood at RM99.3 million as compared to profits of RM84.4 million in 4Q17 mainly due to impact of deferred taxation.

I refer Mr. Stockpicker's remark


Stockpicker: The reports are probably correct.

AAX's Property plant and equipment dropped from 1.65b in Q3 to 0.62b in Q4. Assets were shifted to Assets held for Sales (Current Assets). That likely meant:

1) there will be sale and lease back of assets to raise cash.
2) the higher tax is due to earlier capital allowance recognised being reversed when assets are shifted from Non-Current Assets to Assets Held for Sale.

This is focus on short term cash flow vs long term financials ...... I suspect there will be rights issue in the near future and AA will have to set aside cash to subscribe.
