Quoted from the bloomberg news posted above. It says Salamander has accepted Ophir's offer and that offer comes with a condition of rejecting the transaction with Sona. Now that SC has approved, it still doesnt confirm that Sona able to complete the transaction. On what ground that Sona's share price will increase tmr? failed acquisition? Im getting more confused when I read the forum.

Ophir confirmed this morning an agreement has been reached to acquire Salamander - at £1.15 and today closed at £1.64 !! At the same token , Ophir's share had fallen more than 30% same time last year !!!! So where is this link between the Thai operation with Sona ???? Another "classical" of "1Mysia" ................

Even if Salamandar no deal, it's not the end. They still have almost 2 years and there is still the 90% refund if still no deal by end of 3 years.

no EGM yet. thats why. If EGM for selling to Sona is held faster than EGM for selling to Ophir, we still have a chance. my 2 cents view.

pre opening share queuing volume is not very promising. Beware, dont rush to buy in..
market might hv factored in Ophir deal and trading cautiously.

Everything is not firm yet until Shareholder of Salamander to vote in their EGM. The have 2 offers to consider. If i'm them i will choose to sell everything in one package knowing if i just sell productive assets only i may have issue to sell unproductive assets later. Unless they still want to manage unproductive assets then it may be different story.
Sona price is below the guarantee refund price of RM 0.45 + Interest if no QA within 3 years. Therefore not much downside for the mother. Sona - wa price may have an impact.
I belief Sona management may have plan B if this QA cannot got through.
Im quite upset with long time taken by SC to give approval.It clearly have an impact to the direction of the QA whereby someone can come in and cut the deal during the waiting time of 3 months. Just my view only.
