Yes. USD50 oil is coming. Now, mineral water is more expensive than oil. Doesn't make sense when the oil resources getting lesser and lesser and expected no more oil in the next few decades.
ivan9511 the report is not so good. Since you bought at low price if you hold longer term you can make money as oil is starting to move up again. http://www.bloomberg.com/energy
Great news - Oil price went up 3.4% today to almost $34 and heading to $40 in the next few weeks. Icon still making profit and this quarter expected to be better. Icon trades at 0.4x book and 0.9x EV/replacement value without taking into consideration potential profit from their new projects that they secured recently.
They are doing kitchen singking exercise. Of cause they will loss on paper but the fact is they still profit. This is the best way to run from tax. It is the same concept as small business buying more cars so that they can claim loss to avoid/reduce tax.
Anyone expert can explain the QR? In report i found their total cash and bank balance still have around RM 95m which increase compared to last year (RM 74m). What is their other expenses use for?
Reasons for loss. (iv) Other expenses Other expenses increased by RM372.4 million or more than 100% from RM4.5 million for the quarter ended 31 December 2014 to RM376.9 million for the quarter ended 31 December 2015, mainly due to impairment of goodwill amounted to RM180.6 million and impairment of property, plant and equipment ie. vessels amounted to RM195.4 million.

When Mahathir is out from petronas, will be bad news for SKPetro. Shahril s' father very close to Mahathir As a result, other local companies like icon and Armada will get all the advantages.
ihunter, I think that is a wrong perception. SKP is on its own so please don't try to insinuate that sharil is not a capable person. He is a hard working person. fyi Icon is has to work harder than before to attain such stature like SKP. in oil business your name is your fame. the new guy has to prove his worth as before this the attachment is PETRONAS logo. Sorry I don't intend to offend anybody but that is the real business world in oil and gas.
Ongmarine, I still have my share in Skpetro. I 'm not denying that Sharil is woking hard to ensure all his staff working harder. Unfortunately, he is not the only one working hard in O&G. As for decision in O&G, the decision committee will prepare a decision case based on thier Chairman instruction. The chairman normally will choose company that they know and they can work with.
So, previously, Mahathir familiar with few o&g companies including skpetro. But now it will be replaced with somebody else and I believe unwritten rule has been given to him to ensure the company to select companies that have government interest.
The concept is, out left pocket, in right pocket. So the money remains in government control. Ekuinas is one of them.
Alam and Icon playing the same game. If u can't hold, they will wait for u to sell......then u are a loser. If u can hold for long term, u will be a winner.
U.S. oil closed at 2016 highs on Tuesday after a report that top producers Russia and Saudi Arabia have agreed to freeze output ahead of a much-anticipated producers meeting on Sunday. The output freeze news came as the U.S. government said that U.S. crude output was forecast to fall by 560,000 barrels per day
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
