MARKET BUZZ: Malaysia's Malakoff +5.1%, Kenanga Tips Attractive Discount

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 03) -- Malakoff Corporation advances 5.1% to MYR0.935. Selling pressure has abated, and stock now trades at "attractive" 41% discount to its sum-of-parts valuations after 29% drop in 2017, Kenanga Investment Bank says. "We believe Malakoff could be a dark horse as in the stretched valuation in which we remove the problematic SEV (Segari Energy Ventures), T4 (power plants) and all associate valuations, its sum-of-parts of MYR1.08/share is still higher than current price," house says in investor note. Adds, Malakoff is still actively looking for offshore M&A and greenfield opportunity to sustain earnings growth given cut in SEV's capacity payments. Keeps Outperform call with MYR1.25 target price.

malakod just trow money into the sea or rubbish
malakof not wise magnemnt no use brain
like sign drop like hell now still no sbb . sign like to give dividend to push up the price.
malakof can you clever a little bit just announce 2 or 3sen dividend your share will up no need share buy back later up a bit you can sell and buy back at low price again . get the money from.market.
malakof management just do like that then you can success .

@Malakof boss just be clever a little bit like airasia and mbsb and topglove managemt do .Remember your own management set ipo at 1.80 sen . just be fair to your ipo supporters.
even children also knew your ipo price is fuking high. kip and tunepro better than you but ipo at 1 ringgit. you want ipo 1.80 ringgit must do your work dum be lazy ok

MALAKOF should be a very safe investment.

Whether TNB take off electricity or not from MALAKOF power stations, MALAKOF will still receive money from TNB.

What we need to worry is the impact of interest rate hike.

Hi i3lurker.
This year dividend target is only 5 cents. So, 5/90 => 5.5%. Not the 6.7% as you claimed.

Let us look at the last trading day of the years 2015, 2016 and 2017 for MALAKOF.

Last day 2015: RM1.60 down 2 sen.
Last day 2016: RM1.37 no change.
Last day 2017: RM0.98 up 9 sen, (price up so much only at the late hour of trading)

My guess on the above is the major shareholder could not afford to let its share price drop further, the reason could be he pledged his shares for loan, and about to trigger margin call.

And we see the company actively carry out share buy back, again it could be the major shareholder's instruction to the management to do so.

So, I believe MALAKOF share price will not go down further.

Anyway, trade at your own risk.

I already ask people careful Malakof dun know how to do
even I already feel Malakof better give dividend instead of sbb andMalakof keep wasting company money , SBB in nowadys not a good strategy even public already knew that

Hope the major shareholder will not fail to support the price around 0.90. If he really fail to support and trigger the margin call / force selling, then sad to say may be the price will go down further.
