alex88, this is a very good question. Mr Wong Thean Soon and his private company Asia International total sold around 130 million shares after this year's August. In this year, Mr Wong reduced 80 million of shares from his direct and indirect.
There may be several reasons such as:
- Stock pledge
- Being overvalued
- Poor result for the next few quarters
- Poor outlook and guidance
I guess it is due to the stock pledge.

MYEG also derives rental income from its foreign worker hostels. Currently, it has a hostel in Selangor and another in Melaka, housing 400 foreign workers each. MYEG also has four upcoming hostel projects, two in Selangor (Sungai Buloh – 1,500 pax), (Rawang – 1,500 pax), one each in Johor (Tanjung Langsat – 8,000 pax) and Penang (Batu Kawan – 8,000 pax). Starting with the Digital First Strategy Shift last June, the aim is to push for the adoption of government technology (GovTech) and digital transformation of the public sector, focusing on five ministries – education, health, transport, agriculture and food security, as well as tourism, arts and culture.
Currently, over 90% of government services are online. However, with GovTech, more simplified features will be available to users.
GovTech rollout
The GovTech initiative is expected to be rolled out this month, following the launch of the National Artificial Intelligence Office (Naio) in December. GovTech will be integrated with AI and large language models.
One of the key developments under GovTech is the Hansard Parliament Portal, which uses AI to provide open access to parliamentary information for both lawmakers and the public.
Other upcoming developments are the Malaysia Design System (MyDS), MyGov Malaysia, AskMyGov, GoGov and SiaranGovMy.
MyDS seeks to standardise government digital interfaces to ensure uniformity in user experience, while integrated mobile application MyGov Malaysia will serve as a single platform for key government services, with seamless integration with the National Digital Identity system.
AskMyGov will function as a central portal for public inquiries and a comprehensive repository for frequently asked questions.
GoGov, is a secure link-shortening service for government content, and SiaranGovMy is a central resource for official government announcements and press releases.
