potenza10 Let say 12midnight is the cut off time...just a suggestion.
Dear Mr Tan, Please stick to 12 midnight cut off time. A good and fair suggestion by potenza10. Everyone must comply to this rule.
recently our share market is dominated by the ace and speculative stocks, should those conservative contestants temporary change their investment strategy in order to win the race?
KW, changing rules in the midst of a competition is not appropriate. A I mentioned, a complete set of rules must be put in place before a contest begins (no offence meant). Of course those who are smart will put in their buy / sell orders in the morning (before trading starts) as they are able to take a cue from the performance of the US and Euro markets. So rather than amending the rules, I would suggest that the contestants submit their buy / sell orders rather than doing it at the end of the day after the trading session.
Mr Tan, You have to make a decision, do you think it is a fair suggestion ? This suggestion does not affect all contestants. All are in same playing field and it is no advantage to anyone. I leave it to you to decide, I respect your final decision. Thank you.
betulbetulcakap : sangat berminat to know whether tempat number 3 .. investor TKW boleh menang speculator potenza 10 ( number 1 ) dan tjhldg ( number 2 )tak ?
OTB, as per your request I an compiling the rankings of the challenge (without comments / analysis like previously) since I do not see anyone doing it. I reckon the contestants would like to know how there are performing.
I didn't know Inwest88 is coordinator for this challenge! My apology for my harsh words before! I learn new things from this stock challenge from stock selections of the competitors! Keep it up!

No worries Fortunebull, everyone gets emotional at times.
Dear all, I consider all are my good friends or family members. Let us have the spirit of helping each others. Thank you.
I do notice those bottom 5 participants have very weak knowledge in stock selections! They should not invest at all until they have sufficient knowledge in stock selections and proper timing! Stock market is not for those who don't know much or else loss a lot of money!
Tan KW @wajatimur_28 i am thinking to have one more on next year Jan...
not sure who is interest...
but i think we should have longer time span..... say 3yr - 5yr
else it is really hard to exclude out the luck element... 27/10/2013 09:48
chang0509 Yes, I agree Mr Tan. I think 3-5 years will tell us who is the true investor since company need time to grow and eventually bear fruits.
I totally agree for another competition starting from next year and lets put 3 years duration will be fair to both investor and trader. Elements of luck can be ruled out if it is held in 3 years period.
Following is the status after 10 weeks of trading. The top 3 positions remain unchanged as compared to the previous ranking date except that Potenza and Tjhldg having swapped places. Rich's performance is truly impressive , gaining more than 50% returns. Only 4 contestants are in the red with back2biz sliding to the bottom of the table.
# faberlicious - no thanks, just helping KW Tan out, samll effort. Notice you are doing well in the challenge from 15th place moving into the top 5 and maintaining this position. Hope you are doing great in real trades too. All the best !
Please find below the updated rankings at the close of yesterday's trading. Whilst the top two positions remain unchanged, Faberlicious has quietly and gradually moved into the 3rd spot. However Gooooooo has made tremendous progress to stand at 6th place from 21st previously. On the other hand, tjhldg dropped drastically from 3rd to 14 position. Five contestansts are in the red with back2biz incurring heavy losses of more than 30 K.
With about six more weeks to go, it is expected that the battle will get more exciting and intensifying.
hafiz, gooo and thundercat would like to tell us, picked the right shares will give you piece of mind. no need to monitor everyday and they will generate the multi fold return vs fd....
U got the point there. But you wont know you're right until you hit the return you want. When you dont hit the return you want, then you pick the wrong one. At the point of picking you wont know if it is right or wrong.
# Please find below the latest update The top and bottom three positions remain unchanged. Amazingly Rich's profits shot up despite the poor market conditions whilst the rest came down. Rich's performance is indeed a model of consistency having occupied the top spot (except for once) since the contest started.
# The updated status as at the close of trading today (my apologies if there are any errors). With just 6 more trading days to go, barring any unforeseen circumstances Rich will likely consolidate his top position. However there should be a tussle for the 2nd and 3rd spots for those currently occupying 2nd to 6th placing (all with profit of more than 20K)
To all contestants, all the best in the final lap.
With two more trading days to the end of the challenge competition, Ooi Teik Bee has propelled himself (with a strategic purchase in Hap Sen warrants) to the 2nd spot and closed the gap to less than RM 3,000, with every chance of snatching the title from Rich who has been leading (except on one instance) since the contest started.
Look forward to an exciting finishing in the final lap.
With just one more trading day to go, OoiTB has further narrowed the gap and is now just RM2,000 behind Rich. So it all depends on the final day tomorrow. The race can't be more exciting - expect a neck to neck finish.
Gains at the close of today's trading.
Rcih - 49,896 OoiTB - 47,889
KW Tan - I may not have the time to compute the results tomorrow. Please do it if you do not see my posting by 8 pm. Thank you. Good effort to organise the challenge.
