@joetay I don't think he is a promoter. According to his articles and comments he is just another old man with huge ego. You know old people need lots of attention some times. He doesn't do it for profit which makes him looks even stupider
u r rite to say @calvintaneng has a huge ego to deflate. when i saw his buy plantation story using montana drought as a factor, i almost fell off my chair. every good agricultural trader know that montana is not a soybean growing state so immediately i know that @calvintaneng is bsing.
@joetay same here bro when he preaches Sarawak timber stocks like Jtiasa and wtk with Canadian lumber tariff. He has no clues about the timber pricing and export quota. Just another old ego man who needs to be right and seek for attention.
After being in the market for so long I can tell you ego men have one similarity - they like to "buy low sell high". They need to feed their ego by buying at the exact bottom and sell at the exact high. Being right is more important than making money. That's why Tan Eng is one of them n forever buying the downtrending stocks n nvr made any money.
sometimes i really dont know whether to laugh or cry when @calvintaneng spinned stories.
i m no timber expert but if i remember correctly, timber exports to japan r mostly for home construction purposes and only minimally for infrastructure purposes. so i almost fell off my chair when @calvintaneng was spinning stories for jtiasa and wtk using tokyo olympics.

JOKER TAY,
JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT IF YOU DON'T KNOW
THE US$1 BILLION TOKYO OLYMPIC STADIUM IS BUILT BY WOOD
the main driver for timber exports to japan will still be home construction.
tokyo olympics is only an add-on bonus. how big it is, no one knows since only the centrepiece stadium is confirmed to be using timber as part of its roofing.
can u tell me with 100% certainty that all the facilities will be using timber for roofing etc?
even better, can u tell me why jtiasa and wtk r having lower share price compared to early this yr despite posting better results????
being unable to answer my questionings, @calvintaneng has now been officially driven mad by me since instead of answering my questions, he decide to quote from the bible proverb 26:5.
joetay bro, judging from your comments, I know that you are a very knowledgeable guy with fantastic business senses.
Please listen to my advice, it will be much worthy to spend your time making more money for yourself in the stock market rather spending too much time for this Calvin.
I sincerely trust that you will definitely excel in stock investing even though I don't know much of you.
Calvin, yes, but you started recommending ssteel in January 2015, far far away from the turnaround in June 2016, exactly 1.5 years later. Did you or did you not realise the severity of the industry's slump when you recommended ssteel in January 2015?
Well, Mr Pauper, this Calvin even said he recommended Jaks when Jaks was below 60 cents 10 years again, what so big deal of his recommendation JUST only 1.5 years ago? :)
His recent recommendations were mostly not moving but he will surely claim the credit if any of it fly after 5 or 10 years later.
sometimes mkt is boring so always fun to expose jokers like @calvintaneng and push him to the brink of breakdown.
@3iii,
best analysis i seen on a investor psychology so far.
just to add on, given the minuscule 5% of his fund that @calvintaneng claims to be putting into klse vs the high risk/return stocks that he is promoting currently, this seems to be in direct dilemma with his investment logic.

really is the greatest puzzle of i3. 21/08/2017 15:10<<<<
Calvintaneng will need to be very honest with himself first.
Why he himself buy auction properties but others must buy developers property?
Posted by TheContrarian > Aug 21, 2017 08:53 PM | Report Abuse I think Calvin invest the other 95% into properties which he buys from auctions at dirt cheap prices.
@3iii enjoyed reading your analysis on our senior i3 investor calvintaneng, whom as you have rightly pointed out, been giving us the impression that he is making big money in the stock market, however, is only 5% invested in it. This scenario is similar to the fund manager who invests little or none in his own fund. They call it not eat his own cooking! However, I enjoy reading his stories and find them entertaining and educational too. He does have talent for writing. In any case, Caveat emptor! let every investor be aware and do his homework before buying :)
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
