Yes, term of dividend ex-date might be confusing..unfortunately thats how it works…
We need to buy stock at least one day before ex-date to be eligible for div…

This morning traded volume is higher than PBB...haha.

If price holds, means short term profit taking is well absorbed.

It seems foreign fund has been accumulating slowly.

@stkoay @tolle : thank you both for your valuable advice on MBB. This is the first time I bought MBB after participating in this forum not bad, still on the positive side. haha... need to thank stkoay again for his recent advice on slowly accumulate if the price goes lower before x date as I have asked for advice knowing there is some spare cash coming in. so I just dump it on MBB... Thank you and this will be my long long term holding.....

JJFinn : nobody can accurately predict future price movement, whenever you have spare fund, just top up and keep for long term.
If you ask me, I think the share will trade above 10 is a year or two and above 12 in 2 to 3 years.
Management has a guidance of above 100 sen EPS in their 5 years plan, if they can achieve that, then 12 means a PE of less than 12 times, which is very cheap for the No.1 blue chip.
And while waiting for them to grow the profit, you still get a dividen of about 7%....mana mau cari :)


you cannot campare this with high beta speculative stock...while the short term gain might be tempting....look at what happen to those who chase gloves stocks last year.

@stkoay : thanks for sharing some insight with me on MBB plan. Yes, I will be holding long-term for this stock. fully agreed with you that no one can predict future price movement. We take calculated risk.. I tot I missed the boat for glove stock and now I feel lucky that I did not involve or chased after it. Have a great day....

This stock is the No.1 holding of Amanah Saham Bumiputra with a fund size of 173B as at end 2020. For those who envy the high dividend their unit holders get but not eligible to buy....then just follow the fund...buy MAYBANK.
