I let go of YTL already, after getting net capital gains after all expenses and commissions equal to 19 years worth of dividend by holding for only a few short months :-). I'm happy.

Full-year number dragged by lousy Q1 and Q2. If you annualise 2nd half results, you get EPS of 16 sen - P/E 8.5 times only!

And 8 or 9 sen divvy seems very doable for next year

The dividend announced are Interim Dividend for both YTL and YTL Power instead of Final Dividend. Can anybody who knows clarify on this. Dragon328, what is your comment on this. Thanks.

Interim means the company reserve the right to declare another out from current year earnings.

Q1 interim
Q2 interim
Q3 interim
Q4 interim
FINAL divvy

If they call divvy declared with Q4 as "final", means no more for that financial year lo

@CommonMan, just "MAY", no guarantee. Some companies just don't like to call a divvy "final" because it sorta like ties them up, restricts them for declaring further divvy for that financial year. You can have company that pay 4 divvies a year and they call each and every one of them, including the 4th, as "interim".

@CommonMan, I think this 3.5 sen dividend for YTL Power and 4.0 sen dividend for YTL are likely the final dividend for FY2023. Typically they announce the final dividend at the 4th quarter result.

The reason that YTLP was not able to declare higher dividend for this FY2023 is likely because they need to use the cash to pare down some debts at PowerSeraya and reserve some cash for new projects like the green data centre and solar power farm. Once such allocation is complete, coupled with continued strong earnings from PowerSeraya in FY2024, I think YTLP will have no issue of declaring dividend of 15 sen for FY2024 and YTL to declare 9.5 sen dividend for FY2024.
