the dates for the split as of what i found out is end of april.. and after splitting the share price will be pushed up..

bonus 1 for 3
dividend 5+3 cts ex 27/3
So, u bought 1 mother, u may get after split 5+1.666 share = 6.66 share
Price 6.60 /6.66 share
=90 cts per share after split , bonus and approved .
1 share =6.66 share , so bought 10 , u may get 66,660 shares!
if keep for long term , the share may go up by another 2/3 times , thus your shares will be exponential ? Do correct me if I was wrong. Not a buy or sell call and no malice!

just like ptaras , after bonus 1 for 1 , its price came down terribly from 6.40 to 2.90 , by right it should be 3.20 , so after bonus it was traded at a 10 % discount instead ! So , not all are good anyway!

ok, just to clarify and make things a bit easier to understand, suppose closing price of HUPSENG still remains at $6.7 on 1st April after 27th march 8 cents dividend.

Now after 2nd April:

1). 1 : 3 bonus share and
2). 5 : 1 split

therefore,
1). average price per share after 1 : 3 bonus share is approximately equal to ($6.7 x 3 shares)/(1+3)= $5.025

2.) average price per share after 5 : 1 split is approximtely equal to ($5.025 / 5) = $1.005 (Opening price on 7th April, monday)

If used RM 6.70 per share in calculation as below,

Average price for split from 1 share to 5 shares,
RM 6.70 / 5 = RM 1.34 per share

Average price exercise for after 3 for 1 bonus share as,
RM 1.34 / 3 = RM 0.4467 per share
RM 0.4467 X 2 = RM 0.8933 per unit share

The opening price on 07.04.2014 should be RM 0.8933 per share.

Using Rm6.70

Buy 1200, 1200 x 6.70 = 8,040
End up with 8000 shares after split and bonus
1000 shares = Rm8.040/8000 = Rm1.005

oh ya...thanks for firebird2 calculation as we can used after split from 1200 units to 8000 units, the opening price should be,

RM 6.70 / 8 = RM 0.8375 :)

Initially if you buy 1200 shares at Rm6.70
It cost you Rm8,040

1. Share split 5:1
you get 1200x5=6000 shares

2. Bonus 1:3(subdivided shares)
you get another 6000/3 = 2000 shares

Total you have 6000+2000 shares

At the cost of Rm8,040, you now have 8000 shares
Each 1000 shares cost 8040/8000 = 1.005

Another way to calculate the price is 6.70/5 = 1.340 then 3 for 1 bonus means you get 4 lots but with 3 lots cost so (3 x 1.340 ) /4 = 1.005 . So the correct ex- price is 1.005 if the share price before split is 6.70 .

Sorry lollipopz went out for breakfast just now n just came back. Well for me if the price is around 6.70 gives us an ex-bonus price of around rM1 will be reasonable. I'll enter if the price don't change much. Trade at own risk.

Gaomin, 1 lot = 100 units, 10 lots = 1000 units, therefore 200 lots only will be 20,000 units n not 20 lots.

Yes vinvin , I knew that . I am using the old way . 1 lot = 1000 shares last time , nowadays is 1 lot = 100 shares . Anyway I said later that 300 shares well get 2000 shares and 3000 shares will get 20,000 shares which is correct .
