Price target decreased by 7.1% to RM5.27

Down from RM5.68, the current price target is an average from 18 analysts.

New target price is 9.2% above last closing price of RM4.83.

Stock is down 33% over the past year.

The company is forecast to post earnings per share of RM0.25 for next year compared to RM0.21 last year.

Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd's third-quarter performance was significantly impacted by foreign exchange losses, primarily from its 50:50 joint venture with Saudi Aramco, Pengerang Petrochemical Company (PPC). The weakening of the US dollar against the ringgit led to unrealised forex losses, resulting in a net loss of RM789 million, a stark contrast to the RM424 million net profit in the same period last year. Despite the loss, the group's revenue increased to RM7.99 billion, driven by better performance in its commodities segments, which saw higher plant utilisation and production volumes.

‌Looking ahead, Pchem is preparing for the commercial operations of its new petrochemical units at PPC by the end of the year. However, the start-up of these capital-intensive assets is expected to have a significant impact on earnings, including potential currency translation effects. The group is cautiously optimistic, as a rebound in the US dollar could lead to a partial reversal of the unrealised forex losses. Additionally, the company is facing challenges in its olefins and derivatives segments due to seasonal demand weaknesses, while the fertiliser and methanol sectors are stabilising. Pchem remains cautious about its specialties business amid ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties.

4/11/2024:

Looks like the total net short position has been decreasing over time, which indicates that some short sellers might be covering their positions. When short sellers cover their positions, they buy back the shares they initially sold short. This buying activity can potentially drive the share price up, especially if a large number of short positions are being covered.

Technical charts is looking good. 20 and 50 MA has already been breached. Let see if it can break the 100 MA next week...

The company’s debt restructuring is another two quarters away from completion.

THE true test of a business’ resilience lies in how it deals with its lows.

Sapura Energy Bhd, once a prominent player in the oil and gas (O&G) sector, is no exception.

Sarawak tried to take advantage of the fresh and newbie PH government who knows nothing. Luckily, the people of UMNO and BN who knows the ins and outs of Malaysia defended Malaysia against Cheater and Opportunists foreign and domestic.

Our current PM is useless, he was put in jail for so many years with a lie, and now domestic opportunists wanted to cheat him and PH with lies again.

I think Donald Trump would fire a bad deal maker. A bad deal maker who can't defend himself, let alone defending the country. PH is just a 1 term government. Next election I won't vote for them.

Today PCHEM breached both support level :
Support 1 at RM 4.74
Support 2 at RM 4.63

Anyway, Mabel starts to re-enter PCHEM after it breaches both support level at RM 4.53 conservatively as the QR is expected to be announced on the 28th November.

With PCHEM EPS of MYR 0.25 (as per the latest data) and the PE ratio of 19.02:

PCHEM Fair Value Price = 0.25 ×19.02 = RM 4.76

This means that Mabel has collected at a good price given today’s closing prices is MYR 4.55 which is slightly under the above fair value...

Hope for the best!

For retired uncles who missed the bus to Genting Highland, please think twice before you jump into this shark's pond to join the crab party as the top 20% of the biggest shareholders own 80% of the shares, making this company top-heavy with many fund managers trapped at high prices with more crab sellers than buyers.

The global market for polythene is similar to the steel industry, which collapsed in the blink of an eye. Local weak steel players like Perwaja or Lion could not compete with Chinese conglomerates and South Korean chaebols as they flooded the market and crashed the price.

PCHEM is the same as Taiwan's Formosa Chemical (台塑), founded by Taiwan's richest man, Wang Yung-ching (台湾经营之神王永庆), whose share price also crashed due to global competition and environmental issues:

To all data driven members

There are some changes interest in past week ( positive )
22nd Nov - foreign entity inflow 13mio
EPF making Single high purchase of 2.7mio after past few cycle of disposal ( approx 6mio cumulative )
15th Former period inflow dominated by retailers at 22mio

I benefited partly from the recent rebound with technical chart still showing traction. I’m still in cautious mode however if you guys notice , O&G related stock are coming with positive news since last 2 weeks, with recent surprise from Pet Dagang. Linkage to Velesto let’s see.

I’m still planning long and I could be wrong but traction in oil industry could come in.
Im keen to look into changes in weekly fund from foreign as they were the one going out in bulk ( this behavior is not solely linked to PetChem but across the board in Bursa ). Any sign on trickling interest from the continuously for few week should give some good hints. Kudos to all that are making good moves

Petronas Chemicals’ foreign exchange loss alone in the July-Sept quarter totaled RM1.1 billion.

Last week on the $PCHEM (5183.MY)$ was KLCI the top gainer yesterday, rising 1.86 percent to close at RM 4.920 and it is still holding steady..

Looks like it's another repeat in YTL Power and YTL (also with Forex Losses), today it continues to climb this morning
