ImCK & chrischan, alas, hng33 has bought and sold Puncak the way he sees fit for quite some time. When he sold yesterday, he did make us known of his trade but we didn't follow or hesitated for too long. His approach, while earning him bigger return, carries additional risk (I believe) as well. I am used to buy and hold for slight longer period (my longest is Citigroup for 7 years already) and not good at trading short term. So, follow him if you find his approach good or learning other approaches that you are comfortable. No need to hantam hng33 lah, he has contributed a lot towards updated news and financial analysis of Puncak.
.......The further delay in concluding the supplementary agreement was caused when the state government refused to agree to provide the land required under this restructuring exercise during the transferring of water assets to Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB) by Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.
This was needed to satisfy the requirement of the National Land Code and the Water Services Industry Act 2006.
“While this is a requirement in all the water restructuring exercises, sadly this issue had been used by the state government to make it appear as if the Federal Government is out to grab state land,” said Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry secretary-general Datuk Loo Took Gee.......
Azmin can blame now puasa; next week he want enjoy Raya first only solve water deal later. After all Khalid 6 years as MB also fail to conclude water restructuring why Azmin need to hurry in less than 1 year as MB.
Taking land from the state is a very touchy situation. Royal family regards all state land belong to the Sultan ( it is the same as in Johor or Selangor). Taking lands for PutraJaya and KLIA already upset Sultan of Selangor big time. Now another Land grab for 26,000km pipe line is consider No-No ( I thought Najib already made known of this long time ago)
Singor, you sounds like there is no hope in finalizing a solution? Truth is, has the land issue be so critical to the Selangor Sultan, Khalid won't be allowed to sign the Master Agreement in the first place. Azmin is clearly politicizing land issue lah!
Also, something I don't like about the Ministry of Energy and Water's comment yesterday. There is no comment on how and steps to be taken to address the last hurdle in getting water deal completed or if there is any steps taken to address water shortage. Good luck to us, now even bureaucrats are in blaming game...
Agreed with kahhoeng, Khalid a close friend of Sultan allowed to sign the Master Agreement in the first place. Land transfer is together with water pipe is common practice in other state also, after the lease expire, all the land and water pipe will return back from Fed to state control,
kahhoeng. I have mention this before--land issue is just a delaying tactics by Fed to let some times for AijGor to sort out his own problem. Why must AijGor dug a well and let others enjoy the water.
Azmin at the first place SHOULD NOT politicizing land issue and keep on arguing water treatment that is belong to Fed, but accidentally include as State assets, wasting numerous time to fight something that are worthless and pointless
Singor, I don't know what to be gain with a lengthy delay of water restructuring (guess that's why I can never be politician.) Our politicians need to learn to COMPROMISE! Umno losses that when they have the majority for too long (getting too bossy), and PKR acted as if they can do anything with people's mandate (they really need to look at and learn from Tsipras). Truth is, they are anything but a form of extremists!
Since it is very likely to be delay again, Puncak deadline 13 July need to seek further extension, so that water theme can still keep floating and hope remain. Minority investor may still wan to wait, but Puncak major shareholder, Rozali stand is crucial now....to grant further extension or.....
Agreed, that why Puncak dare to rescind SPA with state if still unable to fulfill last condition precedent in the agreement. But legal course take long time...The only hope is Fed can help to speedy current ongoing case against state for non traffic increment, reach settlement as soon as possible.
hng33 yes, puncak can always claim a speedy court settlement is imminent due to a need to serve people water. But Singor seems to suggest Fed is not in a hurry to solve the water issue too, sigh!
I think if state still insist, Fed can just use Wasia to just take over Langat 2 development BUT need not take over control exiting water concession, thus can minimize interference to capital market. Afterall, what Fed care is just Langat 2.
It is previous MB, Khalid come up the idea to exchange deal with Fed, in which Fed must help state to take over existing concession, in exchange, State grant development order for Fed to develop Langat 2.
Therefore, if Azmin still stubborn, Fed can just use Wasia to take over Langat 2, leave Azmin to settle problem with exiting concession alone for its mountain high debt and numerous pending court case which is in favor to concession against state
Remark: Take a 'hint' here............."As had been said previously, we hope to conclude the supplementary agreement the soonest possible. Otherwise, it may be up to the state government to sort out its own water problem in Selangor," added Datuk Loo Took Gee, KeTTHA secretary-general....
While we understanding political game between Azmin, and Fed, but, there is another MOST important person, Puncak major shareholder, Rozali, holding a trump card to checkmate.
Azmin behaving like Tsipas, thought just Selangorian mandate, he can bulldoze through. Regardless how some compromise is surely needed.... Sien. He didnt see the acuteness of the water and time? This selling price by Puncak might not be available after 13 July.....The whole scheme collapse...Fed left him alone to rot better....
State can resolve mountain high debt and legal case with concession without need a single sen, BUT ONLY if state willing to allow increase water traffic + extent concession period to compensate concession holder and offset their outstanding receivable own by state.
If without Fed gov grant and to assume all liabilities from concession as much as RM 9.65 billion in total, state have to face alone the problem. This is no unusual to grant concession extension as it have practise by Fed gov on power plant and toll operator, even Penang state gov also allow water traffic to increase vs. Selangor state, no water traffic increase + free water + take over concession
