Sunway is not a Goreng stock but is an investment grade value stock. It currently super undervalued. If you have patient. Sunway will be above RM2 in near future.

Guys any idea why sunway got so much debt, what is it really investing in ah? The previous sales, got cash paid some debt but remaining was for building more hospitals right? What about the other cash? Guess EPF feels a little unsecure thats why sell abit gua, but seriously though thats a lot of debt.

Yes, just now checked: between 18 to 30 June, EPF disposed ~16mil shares! Bought zero. Think that's why can't go up....so once EPF stops disposing, can expect upwards movement!

Sunway main income source is from property development and it's a capital intensive business by nature, check out other property development company like E&O and ECOWORLD.

Other than that, Sunway has been quite active for the past year. Some of it is as below
I.) Sunway Carnival Expansion in Seberang Jaya, Penang (near completion)

II.) Sunway Medical Centre in Seberang Jaya, Penang (under construction)

III.) Acquisition of land near Sunway Velocity for RM 233 million.

IV.) Acquisition of land for Sunway Medical Centre in Kota Bahru, Kelantan

V.) Acquisition of Multicare Pharmacy for an undisclosed amount.

From their annoucement to sell 16% stake in Sunway Healthcare, Sunway's CEO said part of the proceed will be used to pare down the company's debt and fund its hospital expansion.

@AlfI3 are you looking at the wrong share? I look at chart, 1Y uptrend, 6M uptrend, 3M also uptrend. at worse 1M is sideways around 1.70. Unless if you bought at high price right at the time when news announced for their stake sale for medical unit. This company is slow but steady, not goreng type.

Besides Sunway, all significant shareholders for IJM are either Funds or Statutory Bodies. EPF with 16% is the largest shareholder for IJM and with 8.47% is the second largest shareholder for Sunway. EPF knows that if IJM under management of Sunway, all IJM development properties will benefits from the Sunway Brand. Sunway in other hand can benefits from IJM southern market and Highway. This is win win situation for EPF and Sunway.

on 24th sept why got ppl exercising warrant at 1.56 per share leh with WB price at 0.4x, the cost is close to RM2 per share. doesnt make sense

today another 5815 WB exercise at RM1.56. Remind me in 2012 when Pmetal Directors converted more than 100m Warrants at RM2.7 when Pmetal only RM1.7+

Yesterday the warrant price was 41sen and mother share was Rm1.66

The holder of warrants has two options to choose from for him to get one mother share.

First he can surrender the warrant and buy a bank draft for RM1.56 and convert the warrant into mother share. His cost is the market value of the surrendered warrant plus the conversion price that is 41+ 1.56 = 1.97
Hence,he unwittingly paid 197 for a share that is worth 1.66

Second, he can sell his warrant in the open market for 41sen and than top up 1.25 to buy one mother share in the open market at 1.66.
In this case he can save 1.56 minus 1.25 equal to 31sen per share.
Two days ago some one convert 136622 shares.

Therefore he paid extra 136622 x 0.31 = RM42,352.

Before WBs are all converted at 1.35 after Oct 2023/2024. 7 cents step down now doesn't impact Sunway at all.
