Assuming PWC do their work and prepare the liquidation issues now, and their legal advisors prepare the court filing for submission say 2-3 weeks after end of July, and assuming a 3 week hearing date on the liquidation (which is what the other SPAC got), and no issues during the gazette period, you should get 99 pct within 7 days of the court order. The quickest is end Sept. If any clowns decide to sue and appeal and frustrate investors using the legal process, then say bye bye.
Initial Investors are gonna sue Sona Board for not defending the company and going into liquidation. the liquidation may go into legal problem like CLIQ.
as others expect the company to liquidate in shortest amount of time. This will just become like CLIQ. sad sad. the management committee will have salary if this liquidation get drag, no?
If you do not have Better investment alternative at current mkt environment, sona should be a good arbitrage play, annualized returns approx 8% if can be done within 6 months (pls do not look down 8% oh unless your overall portfolio returns exceed it).conclusion, sona should be part of your portfolio if your others position can't exceed 8% returns this year,it might not be majority weightage at your portfolio but you can balance it off the risk.remember, stocks with clear exit timing or stocks which are defensive or allow us to hold it with limited cost is essential at current mkt condition as well as to enable us to pass thru super bear.
I know most of you worry on the similar cases like cliq, but even if this happen,we will still have our capital protection with current price (the only loss is opportunity cost)
Aside from SONA, there r +- 1000 counters in Bursa Malaysia. Why wud anybody want to buy into a counter that is in the midst of a liquidation process. Its not like its dirt cheap. Furthermore the oil & gas industry is not doing well now. Hard to understand some investors.
Well with extra cash and FD rates coming off, this is a safe haven for retirees like me. The return is much higher than fd and I can't afford high risk high gain.
SONA say they will defend the case. And there is no coincident. They received the summon writ on July 1st. Creditors no claim on trust account I agree but they can seek an injunction not to wind up the company
almost all of the cliq energu, sona petroleum or even hibiscus petroleum member of board of directors are non performer in the former respective companies, they have poor technical skills and only survived with strong networking/goreng skills. I know halve of them. One of the reasons why they could not even buy assets when put on the field, they enjoy our money ma, through fat salaries as directors!
The 3 pct is not a charge. It money withheld against any potential liabilities or obligations like tax etc etc. likely get back the 3 pct minus costs after say 12 months as a maximum, or the end of the relevant tax year. PWC as liquidators not stupid.
