Tan Sri Hamdan and his related entities were major shareholders of combined 31.42% equity in Ranhill Utilities Bhd. If he is not happy to dispose it at 99.5c, why should he did that?
A billionaire offered .995. a multimillionaire owner who knows much better about data centres (with engineering background) and all it's potential agreed and sold. Who sold who boloh?
takeover at 0.995 is already a fact, is irreversible you can only play hit and run in this counter, but not hold pls do not listen to sinka, they wont responsible for your loss
the company is highly dependent on government grant for profit making in fact, it is a net lost company if without government grant, RM0.995 is already premium price
YTL is a good company, under their management with data centre, the future is brighter than before, don't listen to those naysayers pooping on this counter
yes, ytl is a good management better than the current one so if you hope the company can do well in future, you must sell it to ytl, let them takeover the controlling power of the company
Looking at the Big Picture: YTL Power’s Strategic Acquisition of Ranhill Utilities
YTL Power's acquisition of a controlling stake in Ranhill Utilities is a strategic masterstroke. By gaining control over Ranhill Utilities, YTL Power now effectively oversees the water supply operations in Johor. This asset is crucial, given its role in supplying and maintaining water for the state, as well as its responsibility for laying pipes in new development areas.
This acquisition presents a clearer competitive advantage. With control over the scheduling of pipe-laying works, YTL Power can prioritize its own projects over competitors in a highly competitive market.
For Ranhill Utilities, the introduction of a new shareholder is likely to accelerate their CAPEX cycle and enhance cash flow, particularly as water pipe coverage expands alongside Johor’s robust economic growth. According to the mandatory takeover documents, YTL Power and SIPP intend to maintain the listing status of Ranhill Utilities. This suggests ongoing capital market participation for future CAPEX funding, potentially leading to an upside beyond the current offer price of RM0.995 per share. Moreover, keeping Ranhill Utilities listed ensures good governance, transparency, and public oversight.
There is no compelling reason to sell Ranhill Utilities. Despite the change in ownership, it remains a valuable regulated utility asset in Johor. The transition to a more progressive management team and major shareholders like YTL Power and SIPP should be seen as a re-rating catalyst rather than a de-rating one, especially considering the low offer price of RM0.995. Ranhill Utilities shareholders are now better positioned to benefit from Johor’s growth potential. Additionally, the involvement of YTL Power hints at a potential data center play, adding another layer of opportunity to Ranhill Utilities' investment appeal.
U all misunderstand the real meaning of MTO , actually they can not force minor share holder to sell tickets if we object the MTO , at the same time wr are still a share holder who will enjoy huge capital gain later !
good to be associated with YTLP, last bull lead by glove, this round is infra with YTL group of companies. With the 51% shareholdings, definitely attract a lot of foreign buying into this Ranhill.. today start flying YTLP again, see what will happen to Ranhill.
When people see mandatory they think all minor share holder tickets will be force to sell at 99.5 sen to ytlpower , this is totally wrong , we are still share holder with our golden tickets if we opt to object MTO n hold our tickets , dont look at the volatility now , it s just fear monger from major share holder who wants cheap ticket !
When everyone realise the takeover of Ranhill by YTLP is GOOD for Ranhill it share price will slowly go up. Don’t believe YTLP wants your share since they plan to maintain listed status
