I would do 10 reps in sets of 5! Doing squats! I read that weight lifting is very good for aging people! Just don't overdoing it! Keeping your muscles healthy using weights is better! It also make your bones stronger as the weights will add pressure to your body structure!
Wow, Tobby. That's cool, man. If you're still comfortable doing squats, that means that your knees are still in good condition.
You could also do leg press at the leg press machine, if you do not mind going into the gym. It's good for strengthening and firming up legs, thighs, calves and glutes. Without causing too much stress on your knees.
It also helps to strengthen your stomach muscles in an indirect way, without needing to do sit-ups, which can be a bit hard on your lower back.

Rich! Yeah, very new! Only like 2 weeks! Actually barbell belongs to my son! He gave it to me! He told me to do some squat with it! Squat seems like good exercise! Yeah, very careful doing it as my knee not young anymore! But it does feel good after completing all sets! No more headache! Somemore my 2 inches buddy is getting erected like when i was young! Well, at least my wifey is happy! I guess 2 minutes of pleasure really makes her happy!

aah, tobby, good to hear that now you're discovering the other 'extra' and 'strategic' benefits of strength training ... you want even more power?
ha ha ha, now, could be time for you to start checking these others out:
1. overhead pulldown: good for arms, shoulders, back, pectorals ('wing muscles')
2. simple arm dumbell lift (maybe also called 'missionary lift'?): for arms and shoulders
3. bench press: for shoulders, arms, biceps, chest
4. leg press: for legs, thighs, calves, glutes, tummy (indirect, but still effective), can substitute this for your squat (which is more stressful on knees, therefore less suitable for older people)
5. power walking: good for 'dissolving away' the soreness that you have picked up during your strength training session, also good for stregthening aerobic (cardio-vascular, or heart-lung) fitness. do gently at first, then you can gradually increase intensity as your fitness improves. do it on a different day from your strength training day. I only kept to one gym day a week + 2 - 3 power walking days a week (pre-covid times) it kept me fitter & stronger than many guys 25 years younger.
it's kind of a bit 'dull' but good, so you can download songs you like on your handfone to keep the boredom away while walking. start with slow music for warming up, then progress to faster and faster as you get warmed up and walking faster.
you can take periodic breath breaks if you need. but once you get to a certain fitness level, you might find it more beneficial to end this session at your own maximum doable walking speed.
lol no problem. when you get to a different level of fitness, and eating a bit more protein (just ayam goreng, ikan goreng, beef, mutton, no need all those b00lkrap fancy stylo 'protein juice'), you can do 'seconds', sometimes on a good day even 'thirds', when you would be lasting a bit longer, or if you're lucky much longer, than 2 minutes ...

if you see me doing leg press, you might be reeling with shock
I can push weights that only one or two other guys in the same gym would even dare to try, they also usually much much younger and bigger, and usually they'd give up fast
becos they always want to push too heavy too fast, before their legs are ready and strong enough for it, and they always rushing and skipping the warming up phase, which is necessary and important
then they end up 'unable to walk' for couple days or so, and they get 'leg press phobia' afterward ha ha
