Don't expect too much from cement division. The report got mentioned profit up is due to lower cost is not because of higher sales. Some more with now MRT3 and HSR not going to happen.

YTL delivered a good set of results for Q1 FY2025 with core PBT of RM1.188 billion, after removing the extraordinary item of forex loss (RM290m) from a shareholder loan to Jordan Power.

The bright spot is in the cement division with a 47% rise in pretax profit due to improvements in operational efficiencies and lower production costs. That resulted in a 5% improvement in gross margin to a new high of 34.5% in Q1. The improvements should have come from continued efforts in reducing waste heat, recycling wastes and improved plant efficiency, which will continue for quarters to come.

Petronas Chemicals’ foreign exchange loss alone in the July-Sept quarter totaled RM1.1 billion.

Last week on the $PCHEM (5183.MY)$ was KLCI the top gainer yesterday, rising 1.86 percent to close at RM 4.920 and it is still holding steady..

Looks like it's another repeat in YTL Power and YTL, today it continues to climb this morning...

Yesterday's trading was heavy, so we need to know who is buying and who is selling.
Foreign funds net buy YTLPower was only 6m (8th position after INH, KPJ, Gamuda, Harta, Itmax, PetDag, GENM)
Possibly, individual foreign funds changing hands among themselves.
On the other hand, Local retail sold YTL 7m (1st position) and YTLPower 5m (4th position)
Let's see what happens today, looking out for confirmation I think. Chartist please do share. Tq

YTL Corp Bhd’s (KL:YTL)’s net profit fell by more than a third in the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2024 to RM333.7 million from RM521.73 million a year ago, as contributions from its utilities business, represented by its 55.57% stake in YTL Power International Bhd (KL:YTLPOWR) declined. No dividend was declared during the quarter. The decline in YTL’s net profit was despite a 3.36% increase in its quarterly revenue to RM7.77 billion, from RM7.52 billion.
